"and remember guys, don't send rape or death threats! despite me clearly acknowledging your propensity to do so, i'm just compiling this list of blogs for normal harassment reasons, don't spoil the fun, only be cruel and hateful and obsessive in plausibly deniable ways!"
"hey guys i found a bunch of blogs run by trans women that i've decided i hate. and i'm right about everything so that means you all hate them too! they must be pedophiles! here's a handy list, anonymous hate mob you know what to do! definitely don't send hate though wink wink"
my mother is playing pikmin and yelling at them in the exact tone of voice she uses for me and my siblings so we go into fight or flight every time. we thought initially that this meant she regarded the pikmin as akin to her children, but I now fear she’s always viewed us as pikmin
speaking as an american: can people in america/canada/europe/even australia and nz stop acting so surprised when a country in latin america, asia, or africa pass a landmark LGBT rights bill??? seeing comments like “WHAT???? uruguay is more progressive than MY country???” or “are you joking?!?! TAIWAN approved gay marriage before MY country???” really grinds my gears.
when you make incredulous comments like “WHAT???? the first country to include LGBT rights in its constitution was in AFRICA!?!?!? AFRICA!?!?!?!” you sound like you can’t possibly believe that cultures of color CAN be progressive, or “better” at preserving/granting civil rights than white cultures, because you believe that white cultures are the epitome of progress and liberalism. which is a colonialist point of view.
you don’t sound supportive of the LGBT people living there, you just sound like a jealous racist. just be happy for the people in that country who just had a new avenue for self expression opened to them by the law, and work on creating change in your own country. period.
