Fisherman's Bastion, Budapest 🇭🇺
Fisherman’s Bastion (Halászbástya) is a neo-Gothic and neo-Romanesque terrace located on Castle Hill in Budapest, Hungary. It was built between 1895 and 1902 to celebrate the 1000th anniversary of Hungary. The bastion was named after the fishermen’s guild, who were responsible for defending this part of the city walls in the Middle Ages. Its seven towers represent the seven Magyar tribes that founded Hungary. Today, it is one of Budapest’s most popular landmarks, offering stunning views of the Danube River and the Parliament building.
