Ken Yukimura Appreciation Post

image

(admittedly i could’ve gotten a clearer photo but he looks so pookie here lmao)

Can we appreciate how dude heard the girl he liked (or woman. How old was Noshiko when they met? They look the same age during canon but she ages much slower and Kira’s 17 so they must’ve had an at least 2 decade age gap appearance wise when they met O_o) admit that she was a 900yo potentially immortal supernatural creature and went “😀👌 Lemme take your last name”?

Can we appreciate how dude moves across the country and supports said supernatural wife and cooks for his family and generally plays the more stereotypically feminine role in their relationship proudly? (a REAL man!)

Can we appreciate how dude saw his daughter struggling to make friends at her new school and acted in the most cringe-dad way possible by singling her out in front of the entire class? And “maybe you should date the coyote” about Malia lmao. And “I was talking about you getting picked for the lacrosse team” after Kira confessed about the dead pool? Underrated comedic character.

Can we appreciate how this dude was the only parent/spouse who was actually non-problematic, supportive, and overall GOOD!?

vietnamese people, Iraqis, Yemenis, Afghans, etc are allowed to never forgive your soldiers regardless of how guilty they felt afterwards for destroying their beloved country and people you do know that right? None of your victims owe you their forgiveness for your peace of mind because they will never get it, they don’t get to come back home with their loved ones, they don’t get back those years of suffering and then having to affront the consequences of your government’s invasion and rebuild everything brick by brick, they’re allowed to be furious and mad at all of you forever

So I’m not doing these in chronological order but I’m planning on calling the series “prolonged eye contact” and the first two instalments are titled “I’m sorry. No you’re not” and “Not here” you’re welcome
