Submissions are open!
Hi guys! So I did have to turn off submissions for a bit. Real life getting in the way of updating haha. But they’re open! I know some of you messaged about submitting, so please submit away!!
My Maleficent Coronation Gown cosplay is complete! I’ll be finishing the wings later, but for now COMPLETE!

Well, here we go.
I’m really questioning whether you’d be similarly uncomfortable with a thin girl wearing that cosplay. The very phrase, “I’d be uncomfortable even if it were a thin girl” reeks of your trying to justify a prejudiced reaction by insisting you’d react the same way in any circumstance.
If you’re worried about the sexualization of MLP? You’d do a lot better to go appeal to the brony culture that has literally made the fandom unsafe for young girls for whom the show was originally made. Go talk to the guy who tried to marry Twilight Sparkle or the folks who make outright pony porn. Not a young woman wearing something you think is too see-through. And to top it off? It’s barely see-through at all. It has a stripe of semi-transparent fabric down the middle and the only thing you can see is her navel and a bit of her bra. Give me a fucking break.
But these two things are not even my main concern.
My main concern is your asking women to police what they wear at conventions in front of your son. You mention only girls: “I wish girls (all girls) would take into consideration the minors that are there.” From your obsessive focus on womens’ clothing at conventions, I doubt you’d fuss if you saw a shirtless guy walking around, but the minute a girl wears a bikini or has a transparent stripe down her bathing suit, you throw a fit.
Your fuss about your son seeing a woman that shows skin actually makes me uncomfortable, because you’re already implicitly teaching your son that a woman should cover up. You’re already teaching him that showing skin, for women, is inherently inappropriate and makes them undeserving of respect. You’re teaching him to make women sexual objects based on what they wear.
Ever wonder why sexism is so damn prevalent or why violence against women is so common? This is why. People like you who, teaching your son that a woman is not deserving of respect based on what they wear. How about you teach your son not to objectify women, no matter what they’re wearing? Talk to your son about about the objectification of women, teach him that that woman is not doing anything inappropriate, that she is deserving of his respect no matter what she’s wearing, whether she’s covered from head-to-toe, or in the tiniest bikini she could find.
If you keep teaching your son these things, you’re going to wind up with a little misogynist on your hands. That woman’s transparent costume is not nearly as insidious as what you’re teaching your son. These kinds of behaviors and teachings lead to violence. If you want your son to internalize violence and misogyny, go ahead and keep teaching him this shit. If not, teach your damn son about respect and consent instead of whining to me about an MLP cosplayer.
And the risque cosplay section? Again, you must be new. Because I’ve never heard of a risque cosplay section at a con, or even on this site. I’m going to need you to try harder before you come and fuck with me with this shit again.
I’m not so sure if that Toph cosplay is me or not haha. I have an adult Toph cosplay featured here, but any young Toph cosplayers are submitted by others. Either way, thanks very much if it’s mine, and I’m sure the other cosplayer appreciates it if it’s one of the young Tophs on here. :)
Thanks so much!! :D
Hi! I’m so glad you love our blog and even happier that you found it. I’m so happy you’re not worried about your cosplay anymore, and I hope you’re super-excited to work on and debut your cosplay. :) And as always, we’d love to see it submitted when you finish it. Thanks again and we hope to see your cosplay soon if you’d like to submit it!
Hi! I’m glad you like the Sivir cosplayer who submitted! That isn’t me, as most of the cosplays here are submitted by others. But their tumblr should be listed in the post, and I know they’d love to hear that compliment directly from you! Why don’t you shoot them a message? :)
Oh hey! Glad you found your friend!! And she does look so amazing in her cosplay! It’s nice to see a friend of a cosplayer on this blog being sweet, supportive, and genuinely excited about their friend’s cosplay. :) And we can’t wait to see that Winter Soldier costume! We hope she submits! Thanks again!
Oh gosh, I’m so sorry! Sometimes the negative sides of being a fat cosplayer need discussing, but sometimes it gets to be a little much, and it can be overwhelming, frustrating, or sad. But I think your way of combatting that is a great one! Take pictures of others at conventions!
It’s always fun to see all the cool cosplays! Make an effort to take pictures of a lot of cosplayers, as many as your camera can hold! And it never hurts to make an effort to take pictures of cosplayers you think may need your support! Take pictures of your fellow fat cosplayers! I bet their costumes look gorgeous, and we need to stick together and support each other! :D
