"The whole world is against you." "Are you against me?" "Never." "Then the world is not against me." - Goncharov (1973)

Last art piece before school starts up for me!

I saw a cool Katya/Sofia piece a few days back and got inspired. I figured it worked well w/ Franginia-- the wife of an established criminal & a woman from a more humble upbringing who acts as her confidante.

I wanted this to be a more experimental piece, I gave the two of them more "human" skintones (but kept some of the standard Simpsons anatomy quirks) and I played a bit w/ rendering. The clock in the background is a standard Goncharov motif. The flowers in the background are meant to be asphodels, symbolizing faithfulness until death.

(Pls tag as unreality!)

Unrendered version under the cut:

Me: Jason Todd's issues with the Joker have less to do with revenge, and more to do with blatant systemic failures and feeling like he never mattered in both life and death. Devolving Jason's character to being obsessed with the Joker specifically detracts from his very real grievances. It was never just about killing the Joker. Saying it was is nothing but a cop out that allows the audience and the narrative itself to never have to engage with his feelings or beliefs directly. Also Me: It would be real cool if the Joker disappeared forever, preferably violently.

Very funny concept to me is Holly being too young to remember that Nancy and Steve used to date and having no idea where she actually knows him from. Erica is also fuzzy on the details but just assumes he’s Dustin’s cousin. But neither of them ever actually question where they know Steve from he’s Just Steve to them. They’re both still pretty young during his first wedding so they’re bridesmaids/flower girls and no one questions it cause why wouldn’t they be?

Eventually though Erica makes it to high school and everyone’s like “omg isn’t Mr Harrington so hot?” and she’s just like “ew, no, that’s Literally Steve he’s not hot,” and then people start asking her how she knows him and she’s just like “…I just told you he’s Literally Steve” and just moves on with her life cause again she assumes he’s Dustin’s cousin or something.

Then when Holly makes it to high school she has the exact same experience but she’s even less sure of where she actually knows this guy from so she gets around to asking Nancy cause they’re around the same age so it must be through her right? And then when Nancy tells her that her and Steve used to date Holly goes completely slack jawed and is like “I’m sorry, you dated Steve? Why would you date Steve that’s so gross and weird” and Nancy’s like “how is it gross and weird we went to high school together?” and Holly’s just like “…cause he’s Literally Steve.”

he's been listening to "good luck, babe" for three hours now

REALLY proud of this animation, this idea has been stuck in my head since the vol 2

AND the point of this gif is that you can make him listen to any song you want (internalised homophobia playlist)
