Speech bubbles?

Yeah, I figured I should go ahead and ask everyone about this subject...
Is there some secret to making speech bubbles not look awkward and out of place?
I feel like it's been super-awkward every single time I've tried to put words in a picture of any sort. An advice would be appreciated on the subject.
On another note, still working on everything. Trying to get back into dedicating some time to art in general again.
On another another note - Still working on commissions for the people who are waiting and Micro Adventure is still being worked on. It's been getting overhauls in how the coding works to hopefully minimize work needed in the future as well as make reporting issues with the dialog easier.

The least-intrusive way I've seen is to just write the text and a line pointing to the character, no full bubble.

OP
I tried checking Peanuts, but some girl kept pulling the paper away at the last moment. XD
