Question for you Gaminomiholics~ about the WEIRD STUFF

While this seems like something I coulda just posted to /r/NoStupidQuestions I value the chance for my fans to help me out with my artistic research on a more personal level.
That said, as my own vocabulary increases, I find there are STILL things or ideas I can't express in terms of searching for in searches for looking up inspirational research so my own designs don't become stale. -- Like instead of just saying Giger, how exactly do you describe a type of fantasy artistic design that uses sexual imagery and such for alien hives and architecture. I mean there has to be SOME word for it...
I'll check this threat every hour or two while watching AGDQ2017 and edit / update / give feedback.

FA+

And it's a oddly-shaped stamp with sweeping curves and suspicious bulges.
...are those eye sockets or...
Oh, they're actually both.
Giger used bones, death, decay, rot and the like in his images. I prefer sexual imagery, but instead of death and bones I aim for healthy plump organs, the pleasure of life and healthiness.
Instead of ribcages and skulls, I'll go for soft roundness of a pregnant belly, engorged breasts, and toned muscles. He named his great gallery the Necronomicon, I have named mine the Gaminomicon, the celebration of life, sexuality, pleasure, climatic bliss and happiness.
( also I still would love the chance to talk to you about art in that direction, for pay of course )
Aaah, I love Giger's work so much. I aspire to one day be able to depict insane, nightmarish, yet sensual landscapes like his.
His works have such a serene beauty to them. The fusion of flesh and machine done in a way that looks terrifying, but that seems enjoyable for all involved.
Also, Giger used a lot of blacks and greys in his style; Scorn is going more for that 'flayed skin' sort of look... not a *bad* idea, but definitely more gross than just creepy.
perhaps terms are along the lines of resin structures, flesh structures, alien hive, etc... creep (Again starcraft)... you've probably already thought of those... besides that though I'm unsure of any specific terms that are used to describe the prior mentioned structures and hives
I mean, I dunno, but that term gave me pictures like these and I know you, just like me, can almost feel that ribbed tail sliding along my thighs!
"Like instead of just saying Giger, how exactly do you describe a type of fantasy artistic design that uses sexual imagery and such for alien hives and architecture."
He's looking for terms to help him refine his searches for art styles that might inspire him, not trying to call anything weird.
Biomechanical surrealism is probably the term that describes it closest.
When in the context of the furry fandom though, you're really the only one with such a dedication to this particular art style. So Gami-esque would also be fitting c:
I actually live in his hometown. It's pretty rad and just plain inspirational seeing little scraps of him in public places. And nothing beats hanging out in his bar and being surrounded by his brand of genius <3
I found that list by chance:

Maybe that wiki can help you to broaden the subject matter.
That's biomechanical.
But using landscapes and architecture and rooms and stuff as "living" sexual imagery? That could be done without the biomechanical style, which is what you do. And I don't think Giger himself came up with a name for that.
But whenever I run into a wall like this, I just make up my own word. I open a bunch of tabs to google translate, pre/suffix lists, scientific dictionaries, ect., to try to create a word that described my idea.
Now, of course, no one else is going to understand all that this word entails at a glance. That's why I have to incorporate it into my mythos, and explain through said mythos, what it means.
I could probably add something else to that, but that's kinda how I'd put it. :P Nice and simple.
I think the word you're looking for is more the latter than the former, although Kathmandu up there makes a good case as well. When in doubt, make shit up. That's how english was made, after all.
I like Giger too. He pretty much had his own style, nightmarish, mechanical, organic, and he was a fan of Dali, sculptures, and architecture. So he's hard to pin down into a genra. To me it was like he could take a mundane object and.... twist it into something forboding. I've always gotten a feeling of lust, nihilism, hostility, and age from his work.
Maybe you could try twisting an every day object. See it alive and dead and gestating and infecting all at once.
But that's its own genre and it's automated computer manipulation rather than originally created.
'Suggestive' is the closest thing I can think of.
Did Alan Moore use any particular words in The Watchmen when describing that 'alien' that Veitd'd had designed?
Xeno-erotic or Xeno-erotica might turn up some results, since Geiger was all about sexual concepts in his designs and art.
I'm thinking other combinations of those two prefixes 'Xeno' and 'Bio' will be the basis of your searches. 'erotica' seems like a good one too.
My concept of bio-mechanical has always been the idea of sort of duplicating the biological with alloys instead of carbon as the base substance, energy as fuel for these cells instead of nutrients from food, and enhancing it all with nanotechnology... so maybe searching for nanotechnology along with other prefixes will turn up something? A lot of searches I tried that involved melding biology with technology also turned up nanotechnology as well.
I'm afraid it's quite Catch 22: You don't know the exact word to search for what you're looking for, and you'd most likely only know it if you already did your homework.
One thing you could do is to send out your antennae, so to speak, and ask people to help you search for what you are looking for. It may seem time-consuming and tedious, but no less tedious or time-consuming than searching for it by yourself full-stop.
Most people are almost always itching to help you if you ask a question - this very thread is a testament to that. I like how Firestein put it: "Making scientific discoveries are not made using the fictitious "scientific method" No. Rather, they are the result of fumbling around in a dark room looking for a black cat that may or may not be there." In our case, we're in a much better position because the information we are looking for is already there, and there are people who already know where it is.
So there you go. Happy hunting.
anyway you need to be eighteen at least to play since i put sex, drugs and architecture in it, well architecture based upon race anyway. (257 races).
some architectural designs look rather bizarre others look rather erotic though are functional and have a unique beauty.
i also put everything i could think of in my game as well as use a unique way of letting all the players control the direction of their game. i don't have or need a DM or an AI to run a game. I might have to get on to do storytelling like a blog but the game design runs itself and the players actually DM their own game. Nobody (yet) has figured out what I did. but as soon as it starts selling I'm sure Japan and Korea will come out with a thousand titles in the attempt to steal my market share.
little do they know i already expanded the thing to including so many adventures it boggles most people's minds. (25,000) i even have figured out how to do time, space and dimension travel and include a history greater in scope than Skyrim/Elder Scrolls or even AD&D!
anyway in answer to your question maybe the Pod and Stalk design of the Royant race or the inverted glass geodesic multifaceted mountain design of the Thainian race. there are another 200 more but you'd need to buy the game once i get it ready to play/sell/download.
my adventure into the world of furries and incredible artists like yourself made me make an addition to the 128 races i used only to have.
