I like writing these since I actually do go through these every now and then. Hello, future me! You're an asshole, future me!

Honestly, there weren't too many incidents of note this year. It mostly felt like a continuation of the last year, without drastic changes in either positive or negative. I had my first surgery. Still got a cat. Still working at the same place I hate. I've got plans, but they've been in a long time stall due to life's beat stick. Still learning how to cook; made my own quiche not too long ago. Honestly, this was a super frustrating year in how much didn't change despite my attempts!

It makes sense to ask this question considering F-List is down! I'm looking for both somewhere to host profiles/characters, and ideally a chatroom. While I hate F-Chat, having a throwaway chat was nice. I've definitely been wanting to step away from that site given the amount of child touchers and unstable people there, but I don't know about any alternatives.

People, please tag your art. I'm tired of really nasty stuff sneaking through because people didn't add in their tags. Also, talking as a bi guy, it's not a bad idea to add a gender tag for those straight or gay folks who rather not see a gender.

Speaking of which, I'm still debating on if I should make an alt account for harder content or rely on people blacklisting tags so they don't see things that they're not the target audience of.

Another year went by. My stat adjustments are.. -1 in all stats, gain Negative Quality: Chronic Back Pain. Huh.

Not a ton to say that wasn't mentioned in the New Years journal. At least they didn't ruin the remasters of Suikoden 1 & 2. Still got largely the same small group of friends that have been putting up with my shit for too long, who I'm thankful for. Got plenty of other problems, but I'm at least figuring out the steps to tackle 'em.

Probably going to be posting some more art I got in the past. Debating on some of the harder kink stuff; might make a separate account for those.

I'm just rambling at this point. Never expected to get to this point. It's weird still being around!

This was both a crazily stressful, painful, but hopeful year as a whole. The most negative thing this year was repeatedly injuring my back at work, to the point that I'm pretty sure I'll be having back problems for the rest of my life. In contrast, I'm closer to fixing my life than I've ever been - still way, way off, but I'm finally seeing tangible progress. I'm just glad that the year wasn't 100% shitastic! Going into 2025 with a clearer to-do list and an idea of how to get there.

Here's hoping all the folks that struggled with 2024 at least see a decent way out of their predicaments in 2025.

Ever just realize that your search history's probably a bit weird, but not for the reasons most folks probably expect? Between TTRPG things and roleplaying, especially with Shadowrun (cyberpunk with magic, dragons, spirits, etc) and anything remotely sporting Cyberpunk vibes and aesthetics, I've been looking up some weird stuff lately. Delta Green (think X-Files, Call of Cthulhu, and SCP) had me looking up the standard equipment for FBI and CIA members, while Shadowrun's got me looking at floorplans, real world drug effects, and other things. Reminds me of this stream I watched where someone started viewing a Shadowrun game and thought that the players were actually plotting on how to rob a place!

I'm still having that issue where either I make a character, dust off one I made a decade ago, or plan one out, and then there's someone's creation done in a similar, often better fashion. I'm not even the only person with a minotaur crimelord named Marius! Then there's the times where I start coloring one of those pay to use bases people make adopts of, then someone makes one that's near identical to what I'm coloring (which makes sense as I pull colors from real life animals 90% of the time). On one hand I don't want to be hassled for 'ripping off' someone, but on the other hand I'm tired of this constantly happening and just want to do my own thing regardless, hahah.

I'm afraid to speak the concept for a horse character I've been brewing up in the fear that it'll just spring to life somewhere else.

I need eye bleach.

So.. What's the typical opinion when something you want to create is without a doubt going to end up looking like something another person made? In this case, I'm scratching my head at some bases I've seen people color recently which are using pretty much the same colors in the same basic ways I would. I don't want to just scrap my ideas, but I don't want to be called a knockoff either. Then there's all those times where I've had a project in mind and someone beats me to it (there's a few black/red dragons in particular I shake my fist at due to me trying to redesign/update Addis, haha).

Huh. I'm always kind of surprised when my birthday comes around.

Well hey, I'm going into this next year with some of my shit together, new problems, old problems, lots of pain, and a cat. Oh yeah, I'm actually posting some stuff and have goals IRL. Weird!

To those of y'all that have stuck around despite all the bullshit: I sincerely appreciate it, and don't deserve ya.

Whew, it's February and a lot has happened. In no particular order: my ceiling collapsed, my glasses broke (thankfully I've got a backup), work keeps cutting hours, my student loan situation has gotten even more confusing, I'm still worried about a stalker family member, I'm looking for a new place to live, I've recreated a childhood favorite (breakfast burritos from a burger stand in my hometown), my graphics card is dying, and I still have a cat.

Oh yeah, I tried to name her Cat (short for Catherine.. or even Katherine (Steiner Davion.. BattleTech references)), but realized that I made a mistake and now she thinks her name is "Hey Cat". Oops. I'm not changing that as it's pretty funny.

The year started with the expected levels of stagnant meh, then suddenly skyrocketed to a more active and energetic meh. Ah well, I'm slowly cobbling my life back together and working on some personal goals. Honestly, things are looking up as long as nothing terrible happens (and if work stops cutting my hours). All I can really hope for right now is that things keep trucking along at the stable rate they've been in the backhalf of 2023.

I bought a lot of bases from some artists I like who were having sales, so I'll probably be coloring several of those for personal use. I also plan on moving ahead with some reworks I had in mind for Addis, my main durg. Those kept getting stalled because every time I drafted up an idea someone did exactly that (there's one wonderful looking black/red dragon I'm frustrated with for that reason, hahah). I'm going to be stepping on toes most likely, and I'm sure someone is going to accuse me of copying regardless of what I do.

Otherwise, yeah, going into the new year life is mainly just work, watching videos, playing games (been on an XCOM: UFO Defense kick lately), working on my D&D campaign, chatting with friends, and roleplaying.

Things could be worse!

Edit: Oh yeah, I fostered four kittens and their mother this year. The kittens have moved on and I've kept the Momma Cat as I've been calling her. So.. I'm ending the year with a cat!

Do you ever suddenly get thoughts like "Oh, shit, I AM an adult now!" I just got my student loans out of default and onto a neat monthly payment, double checked the monthly expenses, etc and got smacked with that thought.

That title applies to so many things right now.

Ever just try to favorite a pic and learn you've been blocked? Had two of those incidents today and am really confused.

Anyhoo, felt like putting up another journal anyway. Sometimes I like to go back and look at how a year went, what my mindset was at any given time, etc. Turns out that I like being a DM for D&D/PF1 and make enough spreadsheets that a friend of mine jokes that that's my breath weapon. Still working on self improvement and am starting to see some results.

Not a ton to say here. The year sucked and I fell on my face a lot, but I'm going into this next one (I do personal years based on birthdays rather than calendar) with some guarded optimism despite things being rough IRL.

Since I'm re-re-re-rereading my favorite book and had a loss in the family this year: "A glass poured to air for an absent friend."

I rebooted my Greyhawk campaign recently and did session two last Friday. This was one of my entries on my quick GM notes:

This year was worse than usual. Here's hoping the next is better.

Any Greyhawk fans out there? I'm running a Pathfinder 1e campaign set in first edition D&D. Got the game deliberately set to 576 CY if that means anything to anyone. Definitely looking for someone who knows the setting to bounce ideas off of.

Just finished reading this book series. Think my favorites were the third and fourth book. Favorite character was for sure The Copper.

I was talking to a friend and said "Part of this is a legit AD&D moment." I meant to type ADHD. Ahh.. sometimes stupid mistakes like this are worth sharing.

RL's been crazy. I'm not getting into details. Apologies in advance to those I might have added then immediately went silent on! I can think of at least one or two of ya, haha, oops. April's been nutty in particular.

Outside of RL stuff, a lot of my focus has been on... D&D! I'm one of my friend group's active DMs now so I've been focusing a lot on that. I'm still a new DM despite being in the hobby for a couple decades now. Trying to run my group through some of the oldies in the Greyhawk setting. They're going through N1 (Orlane) right now. We started with U1 (Saltmarsh). This has been a good creative outlet. Hit me up if you want to talk shop, toss possible portraits and music around, etc.

But, yeah, do give me a poke if I've been silent on ya. Telegram in particular has become a secondary chat client so I should move some of my contacts to Discord.

Anyhoo, that aside: I've got art to post and was thinking of getting back into story writing. Thing is, some of this material is going to focus on darker/extreme content that I know most people won't appreciate. Looking at my (horribly outdated) F-List or my favorite list (do so at your own risk!) will give a hint on that, hahah.

So, the question is: Should I post all that stuff here, or make an alt account for the darker/weirder stuff? Quite frankly, I hate the idea of having an alt account just for that, but having an ignorable dumping ground can be useful for those people who inevitably take offense.

Huh. Never thought I'd live this long. Physical stats definitely went down. I'm constantly tired. Mental stats probably went down.
