I wanted to give a huge thanks to everyone who participated in Kinktober this year! Things have been hard for A LOT of us, money is tight and it meant so much to sell as many prompts as I was able. Honestly? Last month would've been ROUGH without the extra income. x.x
This month, I'll be focusing on catching up on some pretty big projects for patrons-- though I may drop a few YCHs now and again to prepare for the holidays.

Some may have noticed that I've pulled back on the prompts these last few days-- that's because I only have enough work to last until the18th 22nd! So if you've been itchin' to claim a day but wanted to wait for whatever reason, now would be the perfect time!
If I don't get any more kinkmissions this month, I may just stop doing the challenge and enjoy the rest of my October. ^.^ Not that I'm against more work, obviously.
I know a lot of folks are struggling financially, everywhere, so there's NO WAY I'm gonna take not selling out the days personally. I consider whatever happens a win/win-- either more work or I get to be a lazy bum for the rest of the month!

Overdue New Year's Update!

Ahehehe.
Well the HusBeast and I got married last year! We've also had a hell of a rough patch after that but I won't bore ya with my scars.
Things are finally settling down and that means that I'll be far more productive when it comes to artwork! Gotta do a bit of catch up with my lovely (patient, wonderful, generous) Patrons but after that I might look to do some YCHs or actually open for public commissions! GASP. :0
Anyway, all this just to say that I'm alive and well!

As things in my life start comin' to a head and Halloween fast approaches I gotta be real-- I have done 0 prep for any sort of daily drawing challenge in November. No promotion, no thoughts, head full of only catering and photographers. x.x Never mind a VERY nervous HusBeast who is starting to fret Kinger.gif style as the date draws near, haha.
I still MIGHT do a sort of holiday sale/challenge in December, as it doesn't tend to be busy for me until the end. ;P But it's still a 50/50 shot.
The thing is, I don't want to jump in just out of guilt and have it be a rushed and miserable experience. I'll have a final answer by mid-November for sure!
That doesn't mean I'm not cookin' up some fun stuff for this month. We'll see if I'm able to make the deadline, ghee hee hee~

General | Posted 2 years agoFor those of you who may not know-- I was on the fence about even doing Kinktober this year. 5 in a row is a good number and I had planned to have a rather large project going on by now that would have gotten in the way.
Now? Now I'm planning a HalloWedding! (HusBeast proposed this July. FINALLY. ;3) My FIL offered to basically pay for the whole thing if we sped it up, so... yay! He offered me what I couldn't refuse. ...MONEY.
Thing is, there's no way in hell I'm planning an awesome Halloween bash AND doing Kinktober. The cumulative stress would murder me. x.x
However~
I may be doing a "Make You Nut November" daily drawing challenge... as suggested by the lovely and wonderful Verra. It'd basically be the same thing on a different, less stressful month. ;P
That's not set in stone, either, but there's still a chance for folks who look forward to this time of year!
So that's what's been goin' on with me!

So just to keep you folks on the up n' up-- I'm no longer doing Monthly Pin Ups. I don't think I've done one for a whole year, to be quite honest. Doing Big Finished Pieces just kind of isn't my style. I like them on occasion (say, for YCHs and stuff) but otherwise I prefer quick, messy pics.
So I've come up with something different. Monthly OC Spotlights! I'll spend a month focusing on one of my characters-- sketching, dressing them up in meme outfits, answering patron Q&A's, that sort of thing. It looks like this month's spotlight is gonna be on Charlotte! So that's fun. :3c
For those asking about commission: I won't be open for a few months, I imagine. Unless there's a financial emergency I need to help with.
For those who REALLY want a commission, I offer a limited patron tier: VIP ($55/mo) which comes with a guaranteed flat color. Yes, even while my commissions are closed!

So what comes next?
Well it's my b-day month and since it's MY birthday I get to choose the holiday. And I choose SECOND HALLOWEEN. >:D My actual birthday is the 29th, for those wondering.
I've recently had 2 of my wisdom teeth removed and am currently recovering from that. My vacation began on 11/8 and will end 11/15 for those wondering! Need a little time to recover and not draw for a little bit. It's important for artists to take breaks so we don't get burned out. x.x
I don't plan on opening for commissions this month, stream or otherwise. I really want to focus on getting some projects off the ground before the end of this year. I'm really excited! The prices are: $40 for a single character, and $50 for two characters, per picture. (+40$ for each OC added after that.)

General | Posted 3 years agoSo 6 or so days ago my HusBeast lost his mother. She lived in our apt building and they were very, very close. While it was something of a shock as she seemed to be recovering in the hospital, it wasn't completely unexpected-- but still far too soon. We have family in the area to help with her affairs.
Obviously this will impact my workflow as I am pouring all of my focus into being there for him.
She was a wonderful mother, a terrifically eccentric person and will be sorely missed.

I can't seem to find any public resolutions from 2021, which is funny because I know I made a personal promise to stream regularly...
AND STREAM REGULARLY I HAVE! Every Saturday I hop on and draw for folks, alternating between personal projects and drawing for money. For example, 2/5 will be a personal stream whereas 2/12 I will take commissions live! If that sounds like something you'd be interested in, follow my picarto:
I've also been focusing more on my Patreon-- taking requests, answering character Q&As and making sure I get the monthly rewards completed. Because of this, opening commissions is a low priority right now. If I do, depending on the demand, I may pick and choose which projects sound interesting to me instead of it being first come first serve. Something for me to think about...

But first let me just slow down and say: I am truly, genuinely grateful to everyone who participated in this year's Kinktober. It's my 2nd time selling out in the first couple of days and my 4th year completing the monthly challenge all together. I wouldn't have the energy, the ambition, if I didn't have you lovely folks cheering me on the whole time.

Surprisingly I'm not completely all drawn out after October, but it may be a bit before I open for regular commissions. I want to focus more on my patrons, and give them their money's worth with character Q&As, monthly perks and digging into the lore of my OCs. Ultimately, I'd love to be one of those artists who draws whatever silly little thing pops into their head and welcome willing strangers into the worlds I've built. ^^
There's a lot going on behind the scenes-- I'm reevaluating how I take commissions (contemplating choosing what subjects interest me vs first come first serve), considering larger projects, and moving forward with personal art goals.

It doesn't look as though that will change too soon-- I am starting to get the urge a lot of artists have, where they want to tell their stories and focus a bit more on their own original characters. My HusBeast was also recently in the hospital and it was a rough time for our little family, so I'm taking it extra easy when it comes to art output. <3 (He's fine! Doing MUCH better!)

First, I'd like to say Happy Holidays and I hope you're doing well. It's been an incredibly rough year for everyone and the fact that you made it this far is fuckin' commendable. Seriously.
I'm proud of you.
I'm making this journal to let folks know that while I've been streaming every Saturday during December, that tomorrow's Sketch Commission Stream will be bumped to Sunday 12/27. KruskDeluxe is having a nightmarish work week, and tomorrow is the only time he can rest before doing a double shift. So I'm not going to do anything that could possibly wake him. x.X
I've also created a Caard! While the "Commissions" tab on my FA will remain, should anything happen to the site you can always use my caard to check my prices and see where it's easiest to contact me!
For those who may be on the fence about joining my Patreon, I've made a patron-only discord and literally any tier gets you in! We share art (early access for mine, ofc) talk about cartoons, stream video games and shitpost. Overall the vibe is very chill 'cause we're a small group. ^^
