General | Posted 9 years agoThe first ring of blades! I want some feedback before I go on. You guys like them? Any sort of time split you'd like to see? There are still a LOT of swords to post and I'd like to know what you guys think.
Incoming!
General | Posted 9 years ago40 blades and a chain of guns. Starting Saturday night, hopefully ending by Sunday night.
You're gonna get to see the culmination of about a year's worth of work. I am really, really proud of this coming series.

Potion Dragons: Race Profile
General | Posted 10 years agoPotion Dragons are a strange, artificial race made by a mad alchemist some age ago. Grey, tall, with short horns and a long stripe of fur down their spine, they appear somewhat normal... Until you look down.
Potion Dragons were made to guard this alchemist's lab, while providing support for his other servants. Thus, they produce various types of potion naturally in their stomach, and store it in several places. The most notable a membrane layer around their stomachs and organs, which shapes and acts a lot like fat cells... Aside from the potion staying liquid. They'll naturally swell with it over any given space of time, making the whole of the race appear quite chubby unless drained often. Also notable in possible storage spaces are both the breasts and the testicles, as applicable, dispensed from appropriate spaces.
Potion Dragons can expel excess brew in two ways other than mentioned above; as a liquid from their teeth and tail, or as a superheated and notably team healing steam breath.
Nowadays they're in demand in adventuring parties as support roles, often fed until they're the right size for the adventure- leading to some being fed to sloshing immobility before prolonged dungeons.

smallergod 's I need a break series. Look it up.
Edit: you can also see the potion in them if they've stored up enough. They'll discolor first, then you'll be able to clearly see it as fluid soon after.

SO! (A thing about commissions, phones, and quotas)
General | Posted 11 years agoI want to try to make right around 30 a month minimum to keep my phone in service, so, I'm bumping my prices around;
Short Stories are going to be flat rate 5 dollars, down from seven, and Pixel Gear is going to be 2 dollars even (Up from 1.75.).
I'm considering a bundle deal for six dollars. Give me your input (BECAUSE I NEEDS IT.)

Species Prompt Thursday Results!
General | Posted 11 years agoKaptainKQ got this one; I couldn't quite get into the other ideas.
--Riskeli
Tall, terrifying creatures looking something like an anthropomorphic wolf, save for the entire lack of a mouth on their face. They do have a mouth; though; one; on the palm of their right hand. The arm is perhaps the most healthy thing on them; as the rest of them is often pale grey, even mottled.
They move in the night and shadows, stalking prey with the unflinching gaze of four brown eyes, which blink alternatively; resulting in relatively nonstop vision.
Among their abilities is some sort of bile-projection, able to hurl a ball of caustic stomach acid from their palm, which is more than easily capable of incapacitation should it strike anything important.
Culturally, only a few thus far have shown any signs of higher intelligence. While not necessarily evil, they're fuckall scary.

Species Prompt Thursday!
General | Posted 11 years agoGive me some traits and I'll see what I can design! Will probably pick one or two ideas but POST PLS.
(Eg: "Dogs with horns and feathers" "Foxes with two hearts and udders" "Venom, fluff, wings." )
(Eg: "Dogs with horns and feathers" "Foxes with two hearts and udders" "Venom, fluff, wings." )
Species: Minos Dredge (Free to use, give credit.)
General | Posted 11 years agoMinos Dredge, Lat. funesti incurrens, are descended from mountain hunters. Large, caninesque in general detail, aside from being bipedal, the feral Dredge also possessed two larger traits of note; broad, flat horns lined up with the flat of their muzzle. They would charge prey off cliffsides with these horns and their ridiculously overdeveloped leg musculature capable of expressing roughly the same amount of force as a bus going at 55 mph in a very short and violent burst.
Minos Dredge also possess a wall of broad feathers under their arms, and a tail with a long row of feathers; these are used to make guided descents down to where their prey have fallen, where the original hunters would administer a quick coup de grace. The feathers are often loud colors and varied patterns; for a time before civilization touched them, their feathers were a tradable commodity.
Dredge are often earthy tones, such as brown, grey, or green, but the odd dark blue has been sighted amongst the population.
Males were the predominant hunters in their early civilization and it continues to show, with males of the species being up to three heads taller than females and similarly broader, some standing nine foot when fully upright, although the standard stance is a hunched over, predatory stance.
Females often had two pairs of mammary glands, located on the chest, due to the litter on average being four children for the whole time the species has been around.
Society has since touched and helped civilize them, and in the past sixty years the race has shown a propensity for knowledge, learning, and intelligence. They still pounce people. More out of affection, as their race has always done. Unfortunately, the tackles are no less powerful.

A Talk About: Transistor
General | Posted 11 years agoFrom the same people who made the godly Bastion, comes another comfortably narrated title. I'll start with my pros:
Transistor is excellent in gameplay. It has a clever skill combining mechanic, the turn planning is spectacular, the story is good, the enemies feel difficult but not super overwhelming. All of it's gameplay bits fall into place and mechanically, it's a masterpiece. The voicework and music are stellar, and I like the characters.
However, my gripes are pretty big ones: for the $20 price tag, a single playthrough was about as much as a flash game for me, and for the level of content delivered, I would have been happier at 15 dollars. It crashed several times in that playthrough, although it literally just released so that I can forgive. The ending, is by far my biggest gripe. It's lazy, cheesy, occurs far too early, and I wish I could literally extend the villain's lifespan to make the game longer and be more satisfying in the tail end.
Overall, however? Four and a half hot peppers out of five.
Tried to stay spoiler free. So I apologize for it being sparse.

Revamping Swordbound: A project you can get involved in!
General | Posted 11 years agoWell, at the very basest level I'm unashamedly basing the rest of the skills in my good friend Maliki's Crossroads system, but the Blade skills themselves may need some help! So, if you care to go see what I've already done for swordbound and make some skill suggestions, I'd much appreciate it!
