General | Posted 12 years agoYo peeps! Wanna see some kickass weaponry (If I do say so myself?) Barring interruptions, I'll be starting in about 30-45 minutes!
https://www.livestream.com/dvhliveandkilling (Still annoyed with my channel name. Really considering shifting to a new one.)
(Well, there's that interruption. I'll be back soonish and start stream on arrival! As well as uploading a new journal and stuff.)

General | Posted 12 years ago1. Not leavin'. Never leavin'. Too much work went into this account.
2. I don't care about the admins, the problem, the accusations, none of it. It's not my business to judge people on hearsay, and I won't, and you won't make me if you want to. Vilify me if you must, but it won't change the fact that I won't ever give a damn.
3. The big reason I'm staying (And why people should think twice before leaving) is that I have, oh, I don't know, RELATIONSHIPS here. People I know and love. I've got fans, I've got friends, I've got people I'd even call family.
So that's it. CSCS is here to stay. Stories possibly coming if I can get it all put together in my head.

An Early Morning Opinion (Oh shit pent up rant)
General | Posted 12 years agoYou know what phrase I hate more than any other, that passes between parent and child?
Get a job.
They tack deadlines on, threats, the possibility of being out on the street (Which, let me tell you, doesn't work. Put someone on the street for not having a job and they never will.)
But that's because somehow, in the parent's mind, it must be that easy. Because forty or so years ago we weren't in an economic slump, we weren't being graded out based on education, no. Back in the day, it was easy(er) to make it in the world. Still not just a breeze through, but easier.
And parents can't seem to understand that it's different now.. Some employers won't take you if you're not already working. Some employers won't take you if you're not in/haven't completed college. God forbid you weren't READY for college and got forced into it by your parents, and dropped out.
"Get a job" is this... this, arrogant turn of phrase. You don't CHOOSE when you get a job. Someone else does. Someone you might never meet, and only sees you in terms of money expended against money made.
One might suggest starting a job such as writing or art or doing odd bits, but that's not as easy as it may sound.
Not to mention a lot of parents won't consider this a "real" job, because it involves for the most part stationary work in front of a computer.
Oh, and there's the transportation, too. That one's fun. Spoiled kids may get cars, but let me tell you, if you don't have a way to work that's your own, you have much lower chances. To get a job. That would help you get a car.
Aren't catch 22's fun?
My point is, most adults (At least of the last generation. I don't feel 22 ;w; ) I've met can't seem to discern thier old, nostalga'd world from this newer, more harsh one. And they need to help provide into that job state, because lord knows some kid with shaggy head of hair isn't gonna make it without it.
Sorry if that didn't make sense. I've had that stirring around in me for a long time and needed to get it out. Thanks for bearing with me.

Additional Expansions For Cool Game Worlds:
General | Posted 12 years agoI yammer on about the marked regiments all the time, and it's about time I addressed them as a society.
RACE:
The Marked: Hundreds upon thousands of people who have taken Daemon Marks onto themselves for power, they can be from any race or creed. The Daemon Marks they bear do however mark them as different- each is able to summon to themselves a fraction of power from now-gone greater daemons of old.
The marks are many and varied (I made them and I'm pretty sure there are eighteen but I may be wrong. And I don't count a lot of the lesser marks that are out there.) but each requires two things- willingly given blood and a fairly strong will. The first to activate the mark, and the second to resist what can easily become insanity.
They move between other races often unnoticed by any but their fellows (any Marked can sense other Marked), and are a generally neutral race. Until called to action, of course.
(SAMPLE MARKED GROUP)
Regiment Of Blood:
These Blood Marked warriors serve as a mercenary group in lower Gothrin, using a combination of daggers and their own blood to great effect. The leader is Mark Almare, who in particular uses his own blood to fuel a carbine. He calls it "Seeker". Mostly because homing bullets. Of blood.

GOTHRIN WEAPONS ARC
General | Posted 12 years agoBig bosses, big prizes, thin (But existent) plot, and difficulty adjusted on the fly behind the scenes.
Want more out of that? Sure! I'm not terribly good at running things. I'm bad at proper worldbuilding (Sort of. It's a long story), story can be difficult and I'm terrible at small-fry enemies. But you know what I excel at? Boss monsters. So welcome to the Boss Parade, bitches!
The Gothrin Weapon's Arc is set in
lasthaven's /UNIVERSE/ as I've plans for some things in Crux, and not just Gothrin. I won't give away the story; suffice to say pick a location fight a boss get cryptic information from the DM to work towards an end. Of the game. Because there aren't enough greek characters.
Starting difficulty is "Oh God I Don't Want To Die", and yes, Rossy, there is a Super-Japan No-Life mode. It starts with you getting stabbed. Repeatedly.
The class of choice is "Slayer", a sort of super-elite spellblade. Which is fancy for saying come one, come all, I'll call you all Slayers. (Trenchcoats are a bonus though.)

Campaign/World Project: Swordbound
General | Posted 12 years agoSetting: Feudal/Dark Cyberpunk
Magic: Specific Classes Only
Type: Set RPG (Planning skills and the such)
Basic Story:
You are Swordbound*. You have devoted your life to mastering one of the twelve blades of Sun General Tao-Sung**, and in this time have bound yourself to the blade you practice with.
Every Swordbound answers to the Grand Daiymo, ruler of the lands. They are charged with protection of the lands, assassinations, leading armies and the such. They are not unlike samurai (If that's not evident yet).
You have been chosen for a specific mission: A sorcerer has risen. Whilst not the first to rise to a position of threatening the land, he's certainly one of the most powerful to threaten the Daiymo's lands.
As the story progresses, you'll be able to build up to an ultimate technique that you yourself can build (With dm help, of course.) Before that, you'll have to master your blade, the technology that it possesses, and yourself.
Sorry this journal's been rambling. The project isn't wholly put together yet, but may beta test.
*Swordbound- A warrior who's dedicated themself to mastering one of many edges that are copies of the Sun General's. Swordbound are varied in abilities, but melee mashing is certainly the focus.
**Sun General Tao-Sung: A military general who carried twelve blades and led a charge to save the land from a sorcerer who raised an army of green skinned monstrosities to threaten it. Seems like we're going in a circle...?

Species/Monster Idea: Le Mange Lumiere
General | Posted 12 years agoImagine, if you will, a creature cursed to not have a shadow.
Seems like an unimportant thing, yes? Just the absence of light. But that's the thing- A shadow is physically created by interrupting light's rays.
There's only one way to do that- And it is what makes Le Mange Lumiere what they are- light does not shine on them- nor is it interrupted by them. In fact, it basically ignores them. Each one is a black, featureless humanoid creature that moves with unerring, singular purpose, to find the brightest light they can, to try to restore their shadows, and thus break the curse.
They're spectacularly devoted to this singular cause. The average Le Mange Lumiere stands seven foot two, slightly hunched, and dragging long, terrifying claws. They can move at high speeds when they spot light sources and always move towards the brightest one.
When they reach a light source, they'll touch it, and it will rapidly burn out, regardless of source. Most frighteningly, they're somewhat vampiric in nature- they can drain the light from a living person and turn them into a dark mass, some of which vanish entirely.
It's theorized that they also have the ability to become invisible- which adds a further, more frightening element to already unnatural and terrifying creatures.
They are the Light Eaters, and trust me, they're not to be trifled with.

Sorry D: (Edit)
General | Posted 13 years agoDue to generally being unable to complete a sketch, and my brain being... out of order, currently, I'm canceling all requests and closing said shop. My utmost apologies, I don't generally do this but I'm out of the zone I was previously in, and I'm having a difficult time processing ideas (Especially today).
I won't do this often, I promise, so come back around next time I open up requests.
Again, I sincerely apologize to all.

Wait, no. Fuck that. You'll see why here shortly.
Although do remind me what I've got to do from y'all.

With that said, if y'all have IRC, and wanna come game in a variety of environments, boot up that client, connect to Irc.fuzzi.es and join the room #lasthaven ! Multiple proficient DM's, long hours and extended worlds! Hope to see y'all around!
To note, this isn't a sexual room. We're talking adventure and stuff.
