Tentative price raise for commissions
General | Posted 2 months agoI've been thinking about a price raise for a while (pls don't kill me) but I'm just not sure what I'd go with exactly, so I'd like you know how much I intend in raising prices, so I need opinions.
This price raise would come in effect next time I open comms, because I need to make a new comm sheet anyways and I've been postponing it for a bit too long.
Another thing I should mention, I will only offer 3 tiers of quality from now on simply because I think my art quality has gotten consistent enough that there is really no point in offering ''messy'' quality tiers. Either way, here's the prices I had in mind:
Clean Monochrome Sketches:
$35 Single character
-$20 for every extra character
-Background still depends

General | Posted 7 months agoThese are things that I've been floating in my mind for years at this point, and I feel it's something I should gauge interest for outside of my private bubble of friends.
I have plenty of ideas for adopts in my brain at any given time, and perhaps I should also sell designs I never really connected with. They would be fixed price adopts, first come first serve because I do think an auction could get out of hand if it catches on. I'm planning on selling them at around $60 bucks, maybe price varying depending on how complex the design is, and if you're curious about my designs in general, just check these two links if you haven't seen them before:

(no I'm selling any of the characters from this lineup lol)
I think my character language can be rather simple but that's by choice honestly, I'm not much into making super complicated stuff (partly cuz I just suck at it lol)
And second thing about this journal- stickers. I also think my style lends itself well for sticker design for being clean in general. I have an unused Ko-Fi account where I could set up shop. Figuring out the logistics behind selling any merch online comes first though, and it's probably the most pain. Either way I really wanna sell Jackeline stickers someday lol, and yes I mean physical stickers, not just digital ones

Tablet crisis averted

who gave me his tablet I managed to get a working tablet again pretty quickly, go give him a watch as a thank you if you see this journal :3
It was quick enough that comm work flow hasn't been interrupted too badly, so I'll be back to that pretty much right away tonight.

Dying Tablet, unsure when I can get a replacement

Today I plugged my tablet to continue commission work and the cursor wouldn't move, suddenly it moved again and when moving it near the right side of the screen it jumps about an inch to the right near the edge of the screen, that only happens on the right side of the tablet. If lift the pen off the tablet and bring it close again, the cursor will stop moving. Drivers are updated, the pen I currently have is a semi new replacement I got not very long ago, so it's not a pen issue. It's not the cable either, it's in good condition. It's not my USB ports either, all 3 USB ports in my laptop are working correctly, the only conclusion is that the tablet itself is starting to die. I originally bought it in August of 2017 so it lasted just over 7 years, not a bad run for how much I paid for it back then.
However, this leaves me without a way to draw for the time being, pretty bad timing considering I have plenty of comms to work on and I kind of need that money lol.
Best case scenario I can buy one right away tomorrow, I'm still looking on the internet if I can locally buy the same model I have- I can't exactly buy one from Ebay and wait a month for it to arrive here.
I'll sort this out, just very innoportune timing as usual, bad things ALWAYS happens when I'm in the middle of working on commissions for some reason I swear. Last year it was dog bites on both of my hands, now it's my tablet dying lol.
