General | Posted 13 years agoI have my 3 for this round, so once they are complete, I'll open up for 3 more.
As I mentioned previously, I don't know how long it's going to take me to get these done, so I really appreciate everyone's patience! Hopefully I'll be opening up for more next week. :3
Happy Halloween, everyone!

Seeking ideas [Free Art]
General | Posted 13 years agoSo. I'm alive. I think. I haven't started craving sweetmeats, so let's work with that assumption.
I haven't created art in... a long time. So long that I am terribly, terribly rusty, and I'm hoping you, O Faithful Watchers (or people that got lost looking for the restroom, I'm not picky) can help me out.
I am opening limited slots for free, you heard me, free art. Sketches. They might not be pretty. They might be... well. Pretty bad. But you didn't pay a dime, so what's to lose?
I'm opening 3 for right now. Once those are done, I'll open up more. I don't know how long it'll take me to complete these, I am working a full time job and as we approach the holidays I lose precious hours to the 'ohgod when was the last time I cleaned behind the book-case' crazies.
To reserve your free (FREE!) spot, please comment with a very short blurb about what you want. Please keep it PG-13. I like you guys, but not enough to offer free porn. If you get in on this round, I ask that you sit out the next one. Feel free to spread the word!*
I'll update this list when I get home from work tomorrow.
1. Shadowcatcher
2. Taijii
3. Reimori
* I welcome non-furry requests too. Play WoW or Guild Wars? Me too! Let me draw your blood elf or your charr!

Regarding Commission
General | Posted 13 years agoI have x-posted this to my personal journal; I have sent emails out to everyone I had contact information for, but a couple emails have bounced.
----
Firstly, I wish to apologize for the tardiness of this letter. I have delayed writing it for some time, and made excuses to myself in the hopes that I wouldn't have to. It was an injustice to all of you, and I regret it greatly.
Most of you commissioned me in 2010 for various pieces of artwork. Some of you have commissions that pre-date 2010, and it is with great regret that I am writing to inform you that I am issuing full refunds to everyone with outstanding commissions.
2010 was a very difficult year for me towards the end, and 2011 brought many changes to my life. I have always had the hope that the artistic spark would re-ignite and I could find the joy of creation again, but unfortunately, every time I sit down to paint, all I feel is anxiety, obligation and stress. Those feelings, as I am sure you can understand, do not make for good artwork, and it is unproductive and unfair to ask you all to wait until my muse is sufficiently recovered enough.
I am not doing anything silly like leaving the fandom, although I have dropped from the convention circuit. I simply need, I think, some time away to rest and recharge.
My request to all of you, is to reply to this email with your preferred method of repayment. I am happy to send out a certified check from my bank, or send your refund via Paypal.
Again, my most sincere regrets; you have all been a joy to work with.

General | Posted 14 years agoI know alot of people stream their artwork, and some of you, I know your preferences, since.. I watch your streams! But for the rest of you...
Do you use ustream or livestream (or both?)? Why? Is there something about one you prefer over the other?
If you are not an artist, do you enjoy watching streams? Would you be interested in watching a commission of yours worked on?
Today I bought a lamp for my desk, and I'm looking for a webcam so I can start doing livestreams. I find my desire to actually attend conventions is waning, but I absolutely -love- the interaction I get with people while I'm working at them, and I thought perhaps streaming might be a good way to get that, and help jumpstart my motivation to work.
Thanks guys!

Moar Status Updates
General | Posted 15 years agoMovers came on Friday, so things are progressing right along. I've holed up in the ceiling (guest room) at some friends' (DuncandaHusky and Takaza) place, noshing their dog's kibble (omg they cook so goood) and in general making a pest of myself.
I hit the road next week after a major storm goes through, which means I'll likely be chasing it east. This seems to happen every time we drive to New England.
THANK YOU, all of you new Watchers! I've been a wee bit busy chewing up the circuitry (herding cats^H^H^H^H contractors), so I haven't had time the last couple of months to thank you all individually, but I really appreciate all the new eyeballs on my work, and hopefully once I'm settled, I'll have new art for all of you to enjoy.
And thank you all of you that have sent well wishes, support and virtual hugs. This move has been really painful for Roho and I- it's the longest we've been separated since we moved in together 9 years ago, and it's been... very hard watching the home we bought together dismantled. I know it'll be re-mantled in our new pad, but I think because we're apart, and I haven't actually set foot in the place yet, the emotional part of the brain can't quite make the connection. So, what I'm trying to say, in my maudlin way, is that all of your support and thumbs up have meant alot to both of us; we really appreciate you guys.
Much <3!

Status Update
General | Posted 15 years agoIt seems that I just surface every now and then to say yes, I'm still alive, but...
I can finally talk a little about everything that's been going on. My husband has accepted a new job in New England, so we are in the process of cleaning, dejunking, and packing our house in preparation for a January move some 1600 miles. It's been stressful and exciting and a bit bittersweet. We're excited at our new location, but will miss all our local friends here.
So my time for artwork is a little limited, but I AM still going to finish my commission load. If you have any questions, please email me; I don't check my notes here on FA with anything resembling frequency.
To the new watchers, hi! Welcome! Things have been kinda crazy the last 5-6 months, but I am hoping to get back into a regular schedule once I get moved and settled.
Happy Holidays to everyone, no matter which ones you celebrate!

My goodness!
General | Posted 15 years agoHI, everyone that's newly watching! (My goodness! Apparently a lot of you watch littletales' livestream! Welcome! <3 )
I've been a bit on hiatus for the past few months, I got hit hard with the Real Life stick, but I'm hoping to start uploading art again soon.
Next weekend is Midwest FurFest, and yes. I will be there. I will be in Artist's Alley at the staff table (if I am not there, they will know how to locate me. I think they installed a tracking collar).
I will NOT be doing commissions. Well. I will, but not taking on new ones. SO, if you'd like to say hi, watch me work, or just chat for a bit, please feel free. I am the only female on the Alley staff, I'm hard to miss.
I may have some rather large real life events coming up in the next month or two, as soon as things are finalized and we have details, I'll post more, but for now, the schedule is a little hectic.
Hope everyone's doing well, and if you're coming to Chicago next week, I'll see ya there. :)

I LIVE!
General | Posted 15 years agoWow. Hi. It's been a while again. >.>
Sorry about that! And HI new watchers!
So I am alive, I am REALLY sorry for being incommunicado the past couple of months. RL has been nuts, my mental and emotional state has been... well. The less said about THAT the better.
BUT, MFF is around the corner, and I will be there! ( I will not be selling commissions, but if you're going to be at the con, and wish to chat, let me know! I will be bringing pieces from my current commission queue, so if you have commissioned me, will be at the con, and want to watch me work on your stuff, let me know, I'll see what we can schedule.
Hope all of you are doing well and are happy and healthy!

General | Posted 15 years agoSo.. yeah. It's been a while since I updated.
I haven't been working on artwork lately, and I owe huge apologies to everyone waiting on me. I think I got hit massively with the burnout stick, and... well, it's no excuse.
Sooo... I will be emailing folks within the next couple of days.
The hat of shame, I am wearing it. -.-

General | Posted 15 years agoI firstly want to apologize for vanishing off the face of the planet. I was... well. I suppose I AM.. having some health issues on top of coming to grips with my brother's death.
I don't say any of that as bids for sympathy, or an excuse, just thought you guys deserved a bit more of an explanation than 'I've been busy'.
My parents are here visiting until Monday, so I will be busy with entertaining them; cooking, doing tourist-y things, taking my dad to shop for a new laptop. I'll be getting back to work on Tuesday morning.
I want to thank you all for the sympathies, the virtual hugs, and the support you've given me, both financial and emotional. I appreciate every one of you!

Death in the Family.
General | Posted 15 years agoMy baby brother just called to tell me my eldest brother passed away this morning.
I don't know all the details yet, nor when the funeral will be held.
I apologize to all my customers. I need to see about a flight to New Orleans.

Anthrocon
General | Posted 15 years agoWell, that time is upon us.
I will have some new Works in Progress to upload tomorrow morning, but I have not been able to start on a new painting. That's okay, I will have something to do while waiting for the dealer's room to open, and people seem fascinated watching an artist paint, so! Good draw. :)
I WILL be in the dealer's room. I am at table F23, near the entrance, right across from
foxfeather.
I should be easy to find. Come say hi! :)
I'll have magnets, a few bookmarks (those aren't selling well, thinking of dropping the line), and I will be doing sketchbooks and commissions. If you know you're going to want something, feel free to preorder! I've made some changes to my pricing, but please talk to me if there's something you really want and it's out of your price range! We can more than likely work something out. I've done paintings for $1 before, seriously. :)
My panel, Introduction to Watercolor and Gouache will be Friday night at 7 pm, in the presentation room (I have no idea where that is, I will likely get lost). I will be going over basic wet/transparent media techniques. It's only an hour, so I'm not sure we'll have time for demonstrations, but if you're curious about watercolor or gouache, stop by my table, we can chat! And I have goody bags!
I hope everyone's having a great weekend, and if you'll be there, I'll see you in Pittsburgh!

Monday Report
General | Posted 15 years agoHellooooo new watchers! Welcome welcome! I shall endeavor to be entertaining and I hope you enjoy your tenure watching...er.. me. >.>
Ahem.
I am allllmost done with a new painting, and let me tell you, folks, it's... wow. It's incredible. I am SO HAPPY with how it's coming out. I need to do some chiaroscuro and some highlights and fix a color or two, and then once the lovely lady that paid for it approves everything, I'll share it with you fine folks.
I'm getting close to some milestones in having people watch/pageviews, so I'm hoping to do something special as a Thank You to all you wonderful people that are looking at my work. More on that as I get closer!
I've been giving serious consideration to doing pre-order badges for pickup at Anthrocon, and.. is there any interest in that? Not asking anyone to commit to anything, just trying to get a feel for things. Let me know!
Speaking of Anthrocon, I will be running a panel this year! It's my first panel ever, and I'm a little nervous. I'll post more about it in a separate entry, since I'm looking for feedback on my subject matter and planned agenda.
Anyway, I hope everyone has a great evening, I've been doing housework all day, and now I am going to relax with a book. :D

Weekly Status Report
General | Posted 15 years agoThank you to everyone that congratulated me on my grades. I am indeed a gigantic nerd, and I am embarrassed to admit- when I saw the A in visual basic, I did a little dance. I was so sure I was going to fail that class. >.>
I think I managed to reply to everyone that commented; you guys are all super awesome, and I don't know what I'd do without your support. (Seriously, RohoFennec has earned his 'Husband of the Year' award several times over this semester)
So now that summer break has truly begun, I'm diving into my commission workload. Started inking painting #3 for this week (completed two small ones earlier in the week), and I will have new artwork to share on Monday. Still waiting to hear back from one person on whether what I sent is good, or if it needs revision. I'm psyched, if I can keep up this pace... that would be mega-awesome.
I will be going back to regular updates again next week; I'm not sure how often I'll post, or WHAT I'll post, but... I'll get something together. :)
If you have a commission open with me (or just want to see what I'm working on!), I have my queue posted... just about everywhere. I am not currently accepting new commissions, but once the queue gets down to something manageable, I will open back up. :)
I'm hoping to fancy the website up this summer, once we get the new website back-end implemented and prettified. (If you are a Drupal admin, and know of a way to give web designers access to make things look good without giving them root access... please let us know? Roho rightfully is wary of giving me Too Much Control over the web server. >.>)
Annnd that's it for me. How are you guys all doing? :)

DONE!
General | Posted 15 years agoDone with finals!!
I'm turning cartwheels, totally completely done! YAAY!
I will probably start painting tomorrow, I've been refining some of the sketches I've been working on in preparation for paints. The weekend is looking a little nuts because RohoFennec got a promotion at work, and some out of town buddies are visiting mutual friends, so there will likely be socializing activities of some sort happening, but..! I will be on the clock on Monday.
Have a great weekend, guys! You're all awesome. :D

Wurf.
General | Posted 15 years agoSo the past two weeks have been busy busy! I was writing a rather involved English paper on homophobia, and writing some really ugly Visual Basic programs (with Roho's invaluable assistance and tutoring!), and this week is the culmination of 4 months of very very tedious and hard work.
Yup. Tomorrow is the start of my finals. I imagine getting through this week will not be nearly so satisfying as it will the last semester I'm in school, but... god, the last few months have been horrible! I'll be so happy to put them behind me in favor of a summer full of art.
To my commissioners - I will be sending out a mass email later this week with a general status update, to be followed by personal contact regarding your pieces. I think I need a couple of days after my last final before I dive into work, but I'll figure that out and get you guys some sort of timeline expectation. You're all awesome, just s' ya know. :)
I had hoped to do pre orders for Anthrocon, but looking at the work I currently have.. I'll have to revisit the idea at the end of May. Not completely ruling it out, but I also don't want to bite off more than I can chew. So..! Watch this space. If I open, I'll be advertising.
Hope everyone's doing okay, I haven't had a lot of time to read journals and respond to IMs.
I will write more later, when my brain hasn't oozed out of my ear to make a break for freedom. G'nite. :D

---Hope everyone's doing okay, I haven't had a lot of time to read journals and respond to IMs.
I will write more later, when my brain hasn't oozed out of my ear to make a break for freedom. G'nite. :D

Quickie Update
General | Posted 15 years agoThe finals crunch is upon me, and I am doing my best to shoot out messages to folks as I have time, but.. I have 4 finals and three major projects due in the next two weeks, and I'll be honest, my programming final frightens me. (Not because it's hard, but because the professor has a REALLY hard time teaching to our ability levels)
If my notes are correct, MOST of you with outstanding commissions have pencils that you've approved. I am still working on pencils for ceeb, kartonis, Tigerwolf and Linnaeus.
You have all been really incredible, and I can't tell you how much I appreciate your support and business. :)
I will update again after finals, when I'm able to give individuals a better ETA for their artwork to be complete.
Thank you!

Commission Queue Updated!
General | Posted 15 years agoJust updated statuses, going to endeavor to get the badge pencils done today, as well as dogsoul and poofyknave's linework.
Would really like to get kartonis's linework done as well today, we'll see if I have time. May be tomorrow.
Tomorrow, if all goes well, will be kartonis's linework, ceeb's character sheet, linnaeus and Tigerwolf's pencils, so I can start painting on Monday.
As always, if you have questions, comments, or just wanna chat... I'll have my instant messenger up! If I can figure out a good way to position my webcam so you see my hands and the paper instead of me, I might start ustreaming this, if there's interest.
Have a good weekend, guys! :)

Commission Queue Updates
General | Posted 15 years agoI'm working on updating the queue and status information for my commissions. I really appreciate everyone's patience as I work on this!
Additional commissions are closed until I can pare this down a bit more, as I was getting everything into one place, I realized I have 15 open commissions, and.. just yikes. No additional work until that number is a little less crazy. :)
You guys are all incredible, I appreciate your support.
