General | Posted 15 years agoMy dog apparently bit into a particularly quilly porcupine and got a face full of needles. I called the nearest open animal clinic, which is over an hour away, and explained the situation. When I asked how much it would cost they told me it would run about $700.
What?
How can it cost $700 to sedate an animal and pull out a dozen quills?
Anyway, I don't have $700.
He's been thrashing around in pain for nearly an hour now, when he tires himself out I might try to pull a few quills out of him. For now though he won't let anyone near him.
I'm waiting for a call back from a few other vet clinics, though since it's Sunday evening I'm not holding my breath.
In other news, I've been sort of missing lately and I'm sorry. The weather outside has been really nice since I got home from college and I've been trying to enjoy it to its fullest, running around in the woods like a crazy person and whatnot.
I'll be arting soon though, I promise.

General | Posted 15 years agoSorry for the whiny rant journal yesterday, I was feeling a bit overwhelmed.
Long story short, I struck a random vein of inspiration at about 4 in the morning and cranked out a character model that I'm not ashamed of and odds are I'm not going to fail the class.
Thanks to everyone who kept me from quitting with the words of support.

General | Posted 15 years agoEspecially with a useless professor. She doesn't teach us much at all in class, just has us sit and watch a tutorial maybe once every two weeks. All the other hours we spend in the room are "work time" for working on her projects. She hates when we ask for help because she says the answers are "on the internet."
The tutorials are pretty good, but apparently we need to subscribe and pay money to see them, so I can't defer to them as I need to.
This is crap, I'm starting to think I'm in the wrong major.
