Also, I'm changing how I take em, or more specifically, how I take funds. While before I've taken payment after the sketch is done, I've realized I struggle with motivation a bit sometimes, so I'm changing that. For this queue, I'll take half after the sketch is done, and the other half after the image is fully finished! Life Update + Emergency Commissions
General | Posted a year agoIt's been a bit, but I'm finally in a state where I can fully get back to work! For context, my laptop's fan has been on the fritz for the past minute; but thanks to someone's help, I've finally gotten a replacement after quite a bit of trial and error. I'm finally getting back to work on my backlog of commissions and YCH slots in full, and hope to finish them all as soon as possible!
However, I DEFINITELY need to make rent, and I've only got a few days to do it - my rent's due on the 24th, and I'm not even halfway there. I'm going to need to open for some emergency coms. I'm locking them to Flat Color, and I'm accepting 6 slots. I'll also need payment sooner rather than later, so I can make my rent. I'm going to be working on both these and the backlogs over the next few weeks as much as I can. I'll send WIPs through Discord as I work.

It looks like things might be getting turbulent soon - not only is the rent raising next month, but the current landlord's looking to sell the place, and if they do that means there's a high probability of the rent skyrocketing even further under whoever the next landlord is; in order to prepare for that or to prepare for the steps needed to get out of that situation, I'm going to need to raise my commission prices. I haven't 100% figured them out yet, but I wanted to let it be known in advance!
Note: This will NOT affect commissions I've already taken, I will NOT retroactively raise the price of someone's existing commission, don't worry about that. If anything, this has lit a fire under my butt to get me back into being productie hopefully!

So I've decided; I tend to do an hour of personal art every day. So, while I won't lock any art behind it, I will upload those hourly WIPs there the day I do that hour. This won't change anything about my upload schedule on other sites like FA here, but it does mean people who sub to my patreon will get a bit more of a glimpse behind the curtain on terms of my personal art. I won't post any WIPs of a Commission or YCH though of course, just personal stuff. I guess I'd also post the hour I finish a WIP there too, but that won't delay the images here, I just have a usually once-per-day upload schedule here which means I have a backlog of images that need to be uploaded.

General | Posted 2 years agoHey all! I gotta say, Furaffinity's new rulings make me uncomfortable as hell. Not just because I fear my art being attacked for proportions or some shit just because it's a cartoonish, non-realistic artstyle, but I'm also rather unnerved by the... loopholes in the rules? Like, it's one thing for them to have a standard for "Non-Sexualized / SFW Fetishes" - I really don't agree with the idea that vore is that SFW, especially since I make vore art due to my fascination with it. It's why I'll never draw underage characters in vore, and why I am very uncomfortable with seeing it myself. But then you get to like, the other shit in there, and it really, really doesn't sit right with me. The entire fucking bit about "Minors under 13 may not be depicted pregnant", like.... you understand how pregnancy happens, right? Why the fuck isn't it "Minors may not be depicted pregnant" in general? That bothers the shit out of me. This feels much less like an attempt to "protect minors" and more like a way to have a vague ruleset they can use to get rid of anything they wish, regardless of if it's a problem or not. It's not helped by the fact that the mod team seems incredibly... disconnected from one another on what is and isn't okay.
But I don't think I'm going to leave Furaffinity. It's the only place where all my art is in one spot, and I'd rather not burn down the one spot I have where people actually come to look at my art.
However, I'd also really like to start spreading out and uploading in more spots in case Furaffinity truly, deeply goes into the shitter. I've already got an Itaku I upload to, a SFW Tumblr and a separate, vore-centric one, as well as some twitter art accounts, though not sure how long that last one will be around given the state of shit that's in.
But I'd also like to know what websites other people recommend I start posting on. I will go ahead and say right now though: Deviantart, Eka's Portal, and Inkbunny are NOT on the table. Deviantart knows what it did, Eka's makes me uncomfortable, and regardless of its ability to blacklist tags or whatever, I'd rather not touch Inkbunny if I can help it.

However, it DOES have me evaluating potential other avenues to explore. And if you have any ideas for those potential avenues, please comment them down below.
EDIT: They might've changed their minds on the Teen Preg thing but that feels like a small ember compared to the fire that is banning entire categories of pokemon, digimon, and character proportions in general.
