entry 5 - almost lost my workstation ...
General | Posted 4 years agoSo I went by and decided it was time to update that damned MacOS system. (yeah I work on a mac for arts... its good for me I guess) I keep my Mac undated almost all the time, because EVERY time I get the updates, something crashes! ... which is ridiculous because I've noticed that those updates are usually dumb small things that do more harm than good... but well that may be just me.
The thing is that I updated to that Mac big sur thing the other day and every program stoped working! Specially Photoshop, which I've been using for art for a while... so I got really mad and had to buy the software again and this time through that damned subscription system which makes it even more expensive!!
Anyways, its almost everything set up again, and back to working as usual...
the only good thing is that apple music app which was horriible before but now is ok and the apple music has better quality now.

entry 4- Practice to get better at furry art?

Been doing the Patreon rewards tier for almost two years now, and Ive learnt many things, mostly art experimentation and endurance. All product of practice.
Want to be a better artist? Then Practice! that’s what everybody say, yet we usually fail at achieving some good practice.
We as artists usually fall into the idea of “drawing just enough” , which means, that we end up just NOT DOING ENOUGH work or practice.
Its a weird idea, and a complex one, since it implies doing more work, just MORE WORK.
how much? just more than what you already do.
I found out the hard way, or the good way I’d say.
My Patreon rewards sponsor tier consists on doing each person an experimental drawing, each month. In average I do 25 drawings like these a month. That is, way more drawings that I’ve though I could do AS PRACTICE ONLY! Then add personal stuff, commissions, etc, etc, etc.
I found out that by doing so many drawings, and sticking at it, you do improve!
Why?
Well at first I thought it was going to be easy, but it wasnt.
Yet I kept at it. I convinced myself that I could handle the task, that I would find and use any way possible to complete the task. Each month.
I couldnt fail, I have all these supporting people eagerly waiting for my art and work to appear each month, that I couldn’t afford the cost of simply tossing the towel. so I kept at it.
The first months was crazy difficult! Like finishing a marathon and two days later begin another one!
After several months, I began finding myself not just applying the topics Ive been using for the rewards, but really looking at my work in a different, more open and creative way.
I also found out that i am capable of focusing and doing a lot of drawings that are part of my artistic training, and not just for fun or for commissions. Thats also very important : these tier has been a very good, and almost fundamental part of my artistic improvement and doing, and along the way, it has also added to my artistic career.
In the end, after taking it more seriously, after handling the stress, the difficulties, and taking it as part of my art career, furry art is becoming more professional, and by doing it daily, it becomes clear that taking the difficult path is the right way.

Well twitter is easy, is short. But here I want to be more open and detailed. Did something already on my frontpage, what do you think about it ?
Also hi everyone! Hope you are having a good wednesday!
So yeah, as you may notice, I am not that good at communicating stuff online, thus, people think Im difficult to talk to or always very busy. But no! I am usually busy, yeah, but I always enjoy meeting people, I also enjoy chatting about the topics I enjoy, even about the fandom and furry things.
back to my profile. I also notice some people that put info about their friends, fav artists, even comms, and all kind of stuff. But I'm not sure that would be just too much? Then again, I am not good at saying "what is too much" regarding information haha, thats why I have so few up.
anyways, been working on some sketches today and got super excited about them! I usually take longer coloring and painting than actually drawing with lines, so when I have the chance to draw, I enjoy it a lot. Usually I take a whole day or two to just do sketches, actually forcing myself to JUST do sketches. this is due to me really liking coloring, and wanting to jump ASAP into it.

entry 2 - life and work balance - I fail usually

Had a hell of a day trying to handle some coloring commisions and also lots of house improvements and work that had to be done, mostly manteinance.
I always find it difficult to balance life and work. Its usually a fight between thinking "I should be working" and "this things have to be done, unless the house, or other things, will fall apart".
I just enjoy so much to work with furry art. Yet its "easy" in a way that I just sit down and do that. That was my life until I left my parents house and found out it was needed to handle everything by myself, and consume time that otherwise I would be using painting or doing more furry art.
But yeah, been trying to implement a 8 hour work day so that I can also free myself and do other things, like cooking hahaha. It has been working out a bit, but I always feel I need more time. OR I feel that I can do more stuff that day, and get obsessed into getting more done...
I know its not correct to work all the time, yet I don't feel working on furry art like a work at all, since I really love doing it, and could do it all the time, but its not sane.
Well, thats all for now, I did many useful things for the house today, and also made some progress with art.

Been super busy these days... A lot of stuff going on, from painting in 3D weird programs :P to riding a lot on my bike XD haha, but what I wanted to share today is this!!:

Will be meeting people and admiring cool artists that I find around :P Also will be admiring fursuits !! I want one so badly now ... Maybe will get one in the future.

Traditional Art for Sale
General | Posted 10 years agoSo, I was thinking the other day, on getting into selling traditional pieces.
i work a lot on digital mediums, but I believe traditional pieces have something special on them, beginning with the fact that they are unique, but also they truly represent the artist's art XD
Because of that, I wanted to get into the activity of making traditional paintings, using oils perhaps, and wanted to know if you guys would be interested in getting something like that.
Looking at pictures, blogs, etc, I've noticed many people enjoy having art on their walls, and maybe some of my artwork could be there too?
Don't know, what do you think? Does the idea of a real oil painting, mostly of furry art, sounds appealing to you?

This orange cat finally made streaming possible! Haha, yeah, some time ago I tried liveststream, but failed, then tried again, and failed again...
Now, with this Picarto.TV site I found (used by many great artists out there) I can do nice streams about my art and commissions, while chatting and even streaming music!!

Back from ANTHROCON!

After traveling 5 hours in two different planes, and wait other 4 in Atlanta’s airport, I finally made it home from my first Anthrocon ever!
It was awesome! I am very very happy that I decided to go, and did everything I could to actually be there, except for the last day… had to get back to work, if not I would have been in a huge trouble… XD
But hey, it wouldn’t have been so amazing if it wasn’t because of all those friends that came by and say hi, hugged, and chatted a little. Was great to see some of you in person and even make some quick sketches on your notebooks!
Various guys told me it was going to be overwhelming for me, since it was a huge convention, and how right they were! With so many furs around, fursuits, and things to do, my brain exploded and at one time I had to get back and rest a little. That, and also having to switch from spanish to english, made me have the most tiring, but also the most exciting days I could have.
I got some neat things there too! Amazing art, books, shirts with cocky designs, decals, badges, a racoon tail and even an amazing mask!
Hahaha, what was that with the elevator’s queue!? I couldn't imagine such a thing could even happen! But it seems its rather common XD. The good thing was that I had a nice view to the lobby and the fursuits passing by during the waiting.
Anyways, I just wanted to say that it was such a good experience, makes you feel happy to belong to such a strong, dynamic and creative community.
Now, looking forward to next year’s AC!
By the way, does anyone knows how that Artist Gallery thing goes? Could be super cool to have a place there next year ^^

Not without sadness I announce that I must close commission slots for an undetermined period of time...
I appreciate all the interest and support you have been showing during these months. I have to say that I more than enjoy working on such commissions. Working with different characters, exploring all your ideas, trying to come up with ways of achieving each piece and get some paws on them, (or bulges!) is so much fascinating.
I have also learned many things on the way! Some improvements on painting and colouring, composition, etc. Sadly, I must stop commissions for a while, since it has becoming almost impossible for me to work on them with the time, love and dedication that I would like to. Some projects and other issues had been coming up, and , for the time being, I must attend them.
I tried and pushed myself to avoid getting to this point, since, as I said, I do love working on commissions ^^ But it seems that I can't keep up with all at once :(
I hope to get back on track as soon as possible, and will announce slots and new ideas here on my journal, or on a submission.
I may upload some personal sketches, quick drawings or even paintings that I manage to work on. I will continue to practice and with luck, I may get better and with much more nice things! ;)

Some improvements on painting and colouring, composition, etc. Sadly, I must stop commissions for a while, since it has becoming almost impossible for me to work on them with the time, love and dedication that I would like to. Some projects and other issues had been coming up, and , for the time being, I must attend them.
I tried and pushed myself to avoid getting to this point, since, as I said, I do love working on commissions ^^ But it seems that I can't keep up with all at once :(
I hope to get back on track as soon as possible, and will announce slots and new ideas here on my journal, or on a submission.
I may upload some personal sketches, quick drawings or even paintings that I manage to work on. I will continue to practice and with luck, I may get better and with much more nice things! ;)

I think they help to show a nice preview of a small part of the picture, but I'm afraid it keeps people from clicking it? Or is it the other way around?
What do you usually do? Haha, just wondering =P

I honestly do not know how or why many people came to my account and watched me, but I am super happy with it :P
