To the ‘neer and pals
General | Posted a year agoLet me start by saying the bad: i did have beefs with the way the site was run, but man, in all this time expecting this site to go to crap, i was somewhat pleasantly surprised it never truly did while ‘Neer helmed it.
You deserved better than Cancer and the american health care system failing you for all you’ve done. at the end of your life, you were still just a dude trying to do what was best, and sometimes you just fucked up. Badly at times, but that’s just called being human. and even then you took steps to be better afterwards. You weren’t perfect, but expecting that of anyone is impossible.
You may of been a cracked pillar of the community, full of faults, but you held us up in ways we’d never think about until you were gone. and even if your legacy, this site, falls apart? You’ve already shown us how to build it back up again. and that’s more than enough. Rest easy, you flawed pillar who did what they could til the end.

Title relevant, also made it because
1) it's golden age Tumblr all over again, design wise and goal wise, there's even asks??? hello???
2) you can commit crimes of the CSS kind. seriously check the tag (#CSS crimes), you will be impressed what some bored folks can do with some code and too much spare time.
3) Twitter is dying in so many ways it's not even funny, Elon's literally just an edgy man-child at this rate who thinks Xs make everything cooler.
4) no advertisements there, ever, and nothing along the lines of metrics to worry your ass over. it's all user focused to the point the main way the site keeps the lights on is user donations.
the big selling point is that at the end of the day for y'all though, there's no porn ban. all you gotta do is tag your shit as NSFW. no hoops to jump through. no hitches or stipulations like Tumblr nowadays. it's just a site to post whatever the fuck you're into and that's all a social media site needs to be!
sure, there's a few furs there already but there needs to be more and i want to follow y'all there as well as on here.
