UPDATE!
We have some pretty exciting news; both 
dancerfurs and 
iowafurs are now showing us their support! Hopefully this can bring some more people in and we can see some more nominations!
On that note, nominations are still trickling in, but we definitely need some more! If you fit or know someone who does, follow the guidelines and send a note; it really is easy to do. A few categories, which I realize are not done by many artists need filling. This would include Crafts-Fur, and the Chef Categories. If you are a member of 
faccc or know someone who is, tell them about the fun category! (Note: faccc is not affiliated with our group.)

Another Mini Update
General | Posted 14 years agoWe promise not to keep you long here! We just had to announce how happy we are that 
playstation3furs has decided to post a journal promoting our group! We have also received some interest from dancerfurs but nothing is official yet. Either way, these are two groups to check out with wonderful content!
We've received a few more nominations, but we want more! All of our slots aren't filled yet and we want to see them stocked up A.S.A.P. So get to nominating, and remember to maybe post a journal to help us promote; the bigger this is the better for all!
And thanks to furryawards for their promotion helping me out; if you aren't watching this group as well, you should jump on that!
(P.S. playstation3furs is looking for volunteers right now! Give them a look if you might be interested!)
Update: Why So Many Journals? AND TWO NEW CATEGORIRES!

Now I know I posted several journals today, and you are probably all wondering why seeing as how some were slightly redundant. I did this so that
1. I could get you guys to look at them.
2. So that we could have these nice journal headers and could make the site even more presentable! (I bet you saw them! XP)
And as the journal title says, we have two new categories! For those of you who didn’t read our official categories journal, or just didn’t notice, we now have categories in Dance, and in Cooking! We found there was high interest in these different art forms here on Fur Affinity, so we decided to add them, so if you are into dance, whipping up a good meal, or know someone who does, get to nominating!
On that note, I’ve received several nominations recently, but still need PLENTY more to fill up our spots; don’t miss out on a chance to get a spotlight! Check out our categories journal; a link to it is posted in our journal header AND footer so it’s hard to miss. Go see if you could enter a category, or nominate someone else to it.
And while I’m at it, why not post a promotion journal for the site? It’s really win win for us all; I get more watchers hopefully to the site, and you have more people to see you possibly get spotlighted, spreading the word about you even farther! We’re also encouraging you to put 
the-furry-awards icon (just like that one huh?) on your page to show us support! Simply type in : iconthe-furry-awards : or : the-furry-awardsicon : without the spaces.

On a more personal note, it seems we have hopefully settled once and for all the issues we where having with furryawards. I encourage you to watch their page; it will be as entertaining as this one hopefully, and encourage (ie. beat with a stick) friends who might be watching that page to give this one a chance as well! (I was kidding about beating them with a stick; use two sticks. =P)
Hopefully we can get this month’s nominations up to a rocking start!

YOU CAN BE NOMINATED/NOMINATE YOURSELF FOR MULTIPLE CATEGORIES. YOU CAN BE NOMINATED FOR MORE THAN ONE MONTH EVEN IF YOU HAVE WON PERVIOUSLY. ANY QUESTIONS PLEASE POST ON THE JOURNAL BELOW OF SEND US A NOTE.

The criteria for the General Awards is as follows:
1. A minimum of 3 submissions for that particular subject posted to either Fur Affinity or another Furry related site.
The criteria for the Up and Coming Awards are as follows:
1. No submissions may be over the age of 1 year.
2. The potential nominee must may at least 1 but no more than 20 total submissions posted to either Fur Affinity or another Furry related website.
3. The potential nominee must have no more than 150 watchers.
The criteria for the Character Awards are as follows:
1. You must have a reference sheet drawn or written.
2. The nominee may only be nominated for one character a month

Anyone wishing to nominate someone for a particular award must note the Furry Awards. The nomination note must contain the following:
1. The subject line must read something to the effect of, "Nomination For ____"
2. Your name.
3. The name and user page of the person you are nominating.
4. What category(s) you are nominating them for.
5. A link to what you believe is that person's best work.

Note to all who are nominated; if you don’t make it this month DON’T GIVE UP! Keep coming back because you stand a great chance of making it; there will be many nominations each month that the judges will have to pour through and we have to make tough decisions as to who will be in the final three and just because you don’t make it doesn’t mean you’re not good, it just means the competition was tough that month.
What do we judge based on? We judge based on THE ENTIRE gallery, not just one piece of work to insure fairness and the overall quality of the artists we exhibit. We also do look at the style of the art; if it is unique and original but not “the best art” you are still likely to be put up for voting.
