Drawing females
General | Posted 5 months agoWhen I first started posting artwork here about four years ago (time sure does fly!) I put up a couple of images of female characters. Since then, basically everything I've done is male characters, and I get the feeling that's what I'm known for now as a furry artist.
However, I've thought of getting back into drawing female characters again. It's been bothering me for a while.
What would you all think if I started doing that again? You can look back in the early days of my gallery to see what that would look like. Like for example, I'd really like to draw Emma the hippo again.

Darth Vader in Fortnite is scared of me
General | Posted 7 months agoI have managed to convince the AI Darth Vader in Fortnite to fear my powers ^_^ A conversation I had with him during my last game:
ME: Hey Vader, have you heard of Wonton Rhino?
VADER: What is it about this Wonton Rhino that fascinates you? Is he as strong as a rancor?
ME: No, but he can change his shape.
VADER: Shapeshifting you say? A curious power. What is the extent of his ability?
ME: He can transform into anything he wants!
VADER: Anything he wants? A disturbing thought, particularly if he could transform himself into the emperor.
ME: He could be impersonating the emperor right now!
VADER: A terrifying thought that such a being could infiltrate the Imperial Palace...

I am now on BlueSky!
General | Posted a year agoDecided to make a BlueSky account! Thought I'd get on there, considering the site's beginning to take off as a good Twitter/X alternative.

Art Style Simplification
General | Posted 2 years agoHi guys, I'm glad you're all enjoying my artwork. I passed 1,000 faves recently, so that's a big milestone for me and I really appreciate all the love I'm getting around here :D
There is something I need to discuss though. You probably notice I don't post artwork very often. The main reason for that is the detailed shading you see in my artwork is very labor-intensive, and often I'll need half a day or more in total hours to complete a picture. The detailed painting process can be a lot of fun, but this does make it hard to muster up the motivation to do new work.
What would you think if I started developing a more simplified art style? Perhaps with less detailed shading and visible line art? It wouldn't look as nice as what I'm putting out now, but I'd be able to put out work faster and more frequently. As a side benefit, I think doing more pictures more frequently would go a long way towards helping me draw better poses and character expressions. Maybe I'd reserve my more detailed style for really special pictures I care more about.
Let me know what you think!

Malleans
General | Posted 3 years agoI'm really happy about how well Wonton's redesign was received! I've had this idea about a shapeshifting species of clay creatures for a long time, and it's only just now where I've really started developing the concept. I would say retroactively every clay creature I've drawn is one, and Wonton himself could be every orange creature I've drawn too :P Since you guys like the idea of Malleans so much, here's some further info I've typed up about them:
- Mostly they have a very friendly and playful personality. Their default form is a blob-like creature, but they'll happily change their shape for whoever is around them to a form they're more comfortable with. They don't even mind other people molding them or taking pieces of their bodies off to play with.
- They get sustenance by 'eating' natural clays from soil. They absorb it straight through their 'skin'. The natural clay is processed and transformed into their own body mass over time. This replaces body mass they lose over time, usually from bits of them falling off. Or they may discard dried out parts. They're very fond of Earth clay as its similar to the clay on their homeworld, which is why many of them have come to visit
- If their body mass becomes too large, they cannot properly control their bodies (i.e. cannot hold a shape, can't move, etc.) so they try to stick around the same volume as much as possible.
- can remotely control parts of their bodies that have detached from them as well. Any one piece of them can become the 'main' piece as well with the core sentience in it.
- Prefer humid/wet environments since that makes them much more flexible and much easier to feed on natural clay.
- They can seamlessly travel through clay/mud deposits in the ground, especially if the clay is wet. Often they enjoy merging themselves with muddy/swamp ground and lying down as a formless mass. Very relaxing to them.
- like to sleep as a formless mass of clay inside sealed containers to help maintain their flexibility and humidity
- can reshape their bodies to resemble either the male/female sex, and may identify as one of these genders, but they're all effectively unisex.
- reproduction is done through two Malleans mixing together parts of their bodies to form a new Mallean.

Deviantart profile
General | Posted 3 years agoI've decided to set up a Deviantart profile. I'll be leaning more towards SFW stuff over there due to their site guidelines, but otherwise it'll mostly be the same thing. Anyway, just letting you guys know in case you're also on DA :)
Why I've vanished
General | Posted 4 years agoHi guys, you might notice I've not been around lately. Since the new year started, things have been busy for me at my job. It's kinda hard for me to find time to draw right now, but hopefully that'll change eventually. There are some things I do want to draw once I've got time again.
I do have a couple of old pieces I could post while we're waiting. Maybe I could put them in scraps. Anyone interested?

Update on PC
General | Posted 4 years agoSo, I mentioned in my last journal that my PC had broken down on me while I was gone on vacation, even though it hadn't been turned on in two weeks. Somehow during that time, some critical system files on the C: drive had become corrupted. My solution was to move all my personal files off my machine to a portable hard drive, followed up by doing a complete Windows 10 reinstall.
I'm still in the process of getting my PC set back up again after the reinstall, but once I'm done I should be able to get back to putting art out there. There was a Halloween picture I wanted to do, but unfortunately I don't think I'll be able to put it up in time for Oct 31.

Back home again
General | Posted 4 years agoI probably should've said something before I disappeared, but I've been on vacation for most of October. That's why I haven't uploaded anything recently. But anyway, I'm back now, and I'm going to see if I can make some new pictures :)
Something seems to have happened to my PC since I was gone though. It runs super slow. I don't know why it'd break down on me considering it's been sitting idle the past two weeks, but oh well...there you go. Hope it doesn't take me too long to fix the problem, since I can't really do art without it. Wish me luck!

Happy to be here
General | Posted 4 years agoNow that I've been here a little while, I just wanted to say I'm glad I decided to start posting my work here.
Considering a lot of my stuff is fanart of Nickelodeon bumpers, and that's a very specific niche, I wasn't sure if there'd be people out there who'd want to see it. It's why most of the artwork you see is old stuff I've sat on for years (especially the stuff in the scrap gallery). However, now it turns out there are people who do want to see it, and that makes me very happy! I've still got some more old material I'd like to post, and I'll keep gradually posting it as I make new pictures. Don't just look at my main gallery...keep an eye on scraps too.
Thanks for watching, everyone! :)
