Apatheism, otherwise known as practical or pragmatic atheism, is a view that describes those who have little to no interest in arguing the existence or the inexistence of supernatural beings. They see the question of belief in god as inconsequential to their lives. 



This doesn't mean that apatheists can't choose whether they believe or not, but rather that they are not interested in the argument and that they prioritize living their lives over arguing in favor of the existence of god(s) or arguing against the existence of god(s).







I personally adopted this viewpoint after becoming frustrated with atheism proper, mostly because atheism holds just as many fools as theism. Atheists are as prone to ad hominem attacks as theists are, and it isn't always reciprocal like people would have you think. It really is a farce. That's why I want to help spread apathy. I think it's more beneficial to the state of our people if we abandon an argument that makes fools out of all of us. Keepin' it real.

What if you believe in a religion, but don't care about trying to convince others to do so, unless they express an interest? There a group for that?

i think it's less the argument that god does/doesn't exist itself then the way people go about expressing their beliefs that sucks. e.g. fuck the entire caillou fandom for constantly mailing burning sacks of dog shit to me
