Been around for years as  elbadjah and wanted to change names. Didn't see the option to, so I just fired up a new account. Old bad art is there. New bad art is here...

Been in furry fandom since 1994. Drew art, wrote stuff, published zines and comics, distributed zines and comics, ran and staffed some conventions. Still trying to draw. Still trying to write. Still trying to publish comics. Getting into some photography stuff too--mostly stuff grabbed with the smartphone. Been doing jewelry work for a few years as well. Looking to both inspire and get inspired. Looking for feedback, as long as it's not being given in douchebag phrasing.

In 2009, I made a huge decision in life and hit the reset button. I was miserable to the point of terminal self destruction down in Florida. I packed up, left my old home and set up in a new city and state. After thinking about the sort of life I wanted to live and person I wanted to become, it seemed that a fresh start was in order. So it's been a year of changes--looks (almost have my hair long again), beliefs, attitudes, outlook on life. I realize that I need to start living for myself, and those who are meant to be with me on this journey will join up and stick around. Right now, I'm just floating and letting life direct me where I need to be, and in the mean time, I'm kicking back and enjoying the trip and scenery. In the middle of a career shift now--getting IT training.

Fat guy IRL (about 5'11, 350 pounds these days), fat avatar online. Pretty much what you see here is what you'll get IRL if we ever meet--fat, shaggy, loud, probably abrasive to the untrained or unaccustomed. I'm definitely one of those "have to know me to get me" sorts of people. I realized that when I stopped apologizing for who I was or stopped trying to change who I was for the friendship and/or affections of others, life stopped sucking so much.

Looking to re-establish some social networking here and in fandom in general. Always up for chatting and reconnecting with people. Anyone gets the IM handles. The sane ones (or at least the sane ones and the crazy bastards I trust) get the text messaging number. I may draw for friends, if it doesn't feel like I'm being used for a piece of free art. Expect surprises. I rarely telegraph when I'm going to do gift art.
