Hi! I'm a 28 year old fiber artist.
I'm an American but I live in Germany. I am happily married to my dragon,
artonis
I am a new mother. Our son was born on July 29th, 2011.
Currently, all of my soft sculptures are made using a process called needle felting. Wool is gradually teased into three dimensional shapes using (almost always) one single barbed needle. It's time consuming, but rewarding! The sculptures are always so much more fun in person. You can't really get an idea for how detailed they can be, or how durable they really are until you can pick one up in your hand.
My current icon was drawn by djinni of Livejournal.
Currently closed. I will be opening at a one-at-a-time basis shortly after the completion of a personal project or two. I need a little time to adjust, recalibrate, and estimate my new turn-around time.

Open for One DRAGON Plushie/Soft Sculpture (G)
Hello there! I am coming to a point where I have to put in a wool order. One of my sculptures is coming back for repair following a puppy attack (ack!) and I need to order the necessary wool to do the repairs.
I'd like to also order the wool for my next commission and so, with that in mind, it's time to start trying to sell that next commission so I can know what to order.
I am open for one dragon sculpture with internal wire armature. Depending on the length of the tail and neck, the sculpture will be at least a foot long from nose to tip. I have one in progress I'm doing as a personal project, but unfortunately it's not particularly photogenic at this time, so I'll have to ask you to go back in my gallery for examples. I enjoy using the wire armature for dragons specifically, because their long necks and tails are very fun to pose and because the wire allows for slim yet strong body features.
The sculpture will otherwise be composed entirely of wool, including eyes and horns.
The cost of this sculpture is $100 (USD) plus shipping from Germany. Half is payable as a downpayment and the rest, including shipping, upon completion. If the commission is canceled or deemed unsatisfactory for whatever reason that $50 is fully refundable, but I reserve the right to sell the sculpture with minimal or no changes made.
** If your dragon does not have WINGS please contact me because your sculpture will be less expensive. **
There is only one slot available, and it is entirely possible that I will not be offering this price again on a comparable commission. Needle felting is time consuming but yields wonderful, squishy, cuddly, and detailed results. So, if you think you want it, you will save both time and money going for it now.
This commission is sold on a first come, first serve basis. If the first person to contact me falls through, I will contact the second, then third, and so on. Please comment here or note me to reserve the slot.
Thanks very much.
