im been in a place to get a commission from the real highend artists for about 4 months and i feel like im too impatient or too unlucky to get a slot. As easy as it is to phrase it as "oh! their fandoms are just impenetrable and too many people hover/stalk them for a NORMAL person to get a picture", the truth is im not the kind of person who is willing to go too far to get one.

you have limited slots? thats fair, you dont want to be overwhelmed, too bad you mentioned that while i was at work and your slots filled 6 hours before i even knew you were free, and thats even if they update when and how they inform you in the first place. dont say you will send out a journal when you're free, the last journal you put out was two years ago, but you've been flooding my inbox with commissions you've done every two weeks for the last year. dont make me have to stalk you on social media just to know the basic information of your business.

you only do commissions for your patreons? nothing wrong with that, but it either feels like ill pay for the privilege to miss my chance like the first option or paying to be allowed to give you even more money, and that doesnt leave me with the feeling of wanting the art at that point.

you only accept jobs if they are actively right there during your stream? well this one died out and it is easy to see why, if people are already willing to give you hundreds of dollars, dont make them jump through hoops.

i can complain about these alot more but at the end of the day i know it is just their attempt to try to make a living drawing without it consuming their life and i respect that, its just hard not to think selfishly when it starts heavily inconveniencing you personally. SO i ask: anyone got advice on how to grin and bear it until you get lucky, or how to approuch an artist you're not sure about the schedule of?
