Not sure how many furries or just people heard but there are Syrian refugees literally all over the world. One of these places was at the same hotel as the Fur-con Vancoufur.
And for once, we got AWESOME PRESS. the media outlets I've seen call us a Fantasy genre sub culture with cartoon-like animals. This is not an insult and makes me proud of furries everywhere.
So remember to do you and be warm hearted, even if you aren't comfortable with hugs, a small nod brightens someone's day!
