This is the story of Jake Zoren, an aspiring trainer who wants to be the best. It all began a long time ago. Deep in the woods of Unova, there lived a Zoroark who watched over the Pokemon of the forest. She was their protector, their guardian, and she made sure that no one hurt these Pokemon. She had a son as well, a little Zorua, who loved her very much, and wanted to be just like her when he got older. The actions of this Zoroark caught the attention of a very powerful Pokemon, the legendary Pokemon Darkrai. He would watch over her, watching from the shadows, admiring her work. One day, he finally decided to make his presence known, and appeared to her and her son. He expressed his gratitude for her deeds, and decided to give her a gift. But rather than accept this gift, she decided to give this gift to her son. This gift was the ability to understand both Pokemon and humans. Darkrai left them, but his presence attracted some unwanted guests to the forest. The Cult of Darkrai, wanting to capture Darkrai, came to the forest for one thing. They wanted the Zoroark, as they thought she was the key to capturing Darkrai. They threatened to hurt the Pokemon of the forest, and her son, and so she went willingly, telling her son to watch over the forest. She was taken, and her son was devastated. He continued to watch the forest, eventually evolving into a Zoroark himself. Soon, the cult returned after realizing that his mother wasn’t the key, and they took him as well. He only went because he wanted to see his mother again. Once there, they began to test out their hacks on him along with their other subjects. He complied, only because they threatened to hurt his mother. He was there for months, slowly growing more and more hungry for vengeance. All the other subjects around him died, and he knew that he didn’t have much time left. Soon enough, The First Augur came to try and stop the cult, and during the frenzy, he escaped. He tried to save his mother, but she was gone. He had no idea whether she was dead or she escaped, so he returned to the forest to look for her, but she wasn’t there. Angry, upset, and defeated, he decided to completely start over, and leave his old life behind him. He transformed into a human, under the name, “Jake Zoren”. He traveled all the way to Kanto, and settled down in Viridian City. Once he was settled, he went through intensive therapy with the move relearner and move deleter in order to reverse what the cult did to him. This came with some side effects. When Jake gets too stressed or upset, his illusions get the better of him and he begins to see things. If he lets them get to him, he can go completely feral. Once he was done with his therapy, he settled down and lived a normal life for a while. While he was living in this community, he began to develop a sense of the human community. For one, he hated the competitive community due to their toxicity, and their tendency to hack their Pokemon, which brings back the PTSD. He also doesn’t like technology very much, as he feels it ruins the fun of traveling and exploring the world around him.
