UFFL 2024 week 11 results and week 12 preview! (G)
Happy Hollidays football fans! Marty here with the results of Monday night football:
New Orleans at Chicago
It’s one of the biggest upsets of the season as the 4-6 Corsairs come into Chicago and beat the division-leading Outlaws 33-21. Despite getting sacked seven times, rookie QB Theodore Dupre remained cool in the pocket, throwing for a career-high 351 yards and two touchdowns. The Outlaws were able to stay in the game on the back of Jean-Etienne Tremblay’s 177 yards from scrimmage and three TDs, and they had a chance to drive the down the field for a game-winning score late in the fourth quarter. However, linebacker Elliot Brisette picked off Smith and ran it back 70 yards for the game-sealing touchdown, the first of his four-year career.
North Florida at Miami
This was actually a close game for the first 30 minutes or so. Miami was only down one score at the half, despite veteran Renegades receiver Olen Reuyters having the best day of his 10-year career. Reuyters would finish with 170 yards receiving, both a career and team record, including two catches of over 50 yards. Unfortunately, the Tropics would lose rookie tight end Sky Holcomb to a knee injury in the first quarter, and it seemed to take some of the life out of the team’s offense. They weren’t able to score in the second half, and North Florida gradually pulled away with 13 unanswered points. It was also an extremely ugly game on both sides, with a combined 22 flags for over 200 yards of penalties. Final score: NFR 30, MIA 10
Downriver at Montreal
The key to defeating Downriver is holding Lillian Newman in check. And the key to holding her in check is simple: keep the ball out of her hands. The Royal did just that, rushing 34 times for a combined 221 yards. With that sort of production, Christian Wright didn’t need to throw all that much. But when he did he made it count, with only 137 yards but with three touchdowns. Newman has now failed to pass for 200 yards or more four games in a row, though her legs have kept the Waves at least competitive in all of those games until today. Tyron Appleby is still expected to miss next week as well while recovering from an injured knee, so Montreal will likely continue to lean on Ligustica for the immediate future. Final score: MTL 30, DWN 10
Las Vegas at Grand Rapids
The Dragons roared back in a big way this week after last week’s loss to the Ponies, coming back from an 11 point deficit to beat the Bandits on a touchdown catch by Thomas Harris with 37 seconds left on the clock. It’s even more impressive considering rookie quarterback Kira Cassiano limped off the field after a sack at the end of the second quarter was replaced by Bobby Burnette after halftime. Wide receiver Arthur Christopher was also ruled out after a hamstring injury, and the team as a whole had more rushing attempts than rushing yardage. But all that mattered was that Burnette led the team on a 14-play drive in the fourth quarter for the come-from-behind victory. Final score: GRD 15, LVB 14
Easton at Austin
Methinks something pissed off the Bald Eagles in big way. Maybe it was losing six straight? Whatever it was, they came into Texas looking to take some heads, and they did in a big way. Three different running backs would find the end zone, and Easton’s defense held Kai Koa to FOUR total completions all game. That’s not a typo. Koa now has a career completion percentage of barely over .500, and has regressed in each of his three seasons as Austin’s signalcaller. It didn’t help that he was being relied on to play hero ball after Easton ran up a 23-0 lead in the first half, leading to a lot of long, off-target throws. Final score: EAS 40, ATX 6
Nashville at Richmond
What’s remarkable about this game isn’t that Richmond lost to the best team in the league. That was frankly expected. What’s remarkable is that the Flames were actually leading at the half. Marc-Edouard Carpentier had the best game of his young career, albeit one marred by three interceptions. He set a team record with 37 completions on his way to 373 passing yards and four touchdowns, helping Richmond hang with the Tuts in a game that had almost 1000 yards of combined offense. He actually outplayed Tuts quarterback Lance Maxwell, making his third start of the season for the injured Roman Oliviera. The big difference-maker on Nashville’s side was Bubba Deezen, who set a team record with 161 rushing yards and scored the tying touchdown in the third quarter, part of barrage that saw the Tuts score three times in less than five minutes of game time. Final score: NSH 45, RIC 31
New York at California
Fans who still remember Elise Beaumont’s heroic, ROTY-winning season in 2020 must have been thrilled to see her make her first start in two years today against the Defiant. Unfortunately, it’s clear that she had plenty of rust to shake off, throwing one pass that was picked off on a deflection and returned for a touchdown at the beginning of the third quarter, and another pick on the first play after New York had scored to take a four point lead with only a minute remaining. While that didn’t immediately end the game, the Demons were forced to burn all of their timeouts to get the ball back with thirty seconds and 68 yards to go. Beaumont was able to get them onto New York’s side of the field, but they just ran out of time and weren’t able to run up and spike the ball before time expired. Final score: NYD 24, CAL 17
Baltimore at Colorado
The Ponies have their win streak snapped at two as the Crushers pull away in the second half, aided by career-best performances from receiver Greg Bear (with 124 yards receiving on six catches) and kicker Sophia Borregales (whose 56-yard kick in the second quarter was a career long). As seems to be the theme this week, St. Claire and the Ponies were able to keep the game to one score, and even lead for a bit, before the Crushers scored 14 unanswered points in the third quarter to put the game out of reach permanently. After opening the season 2-4, Colorado has now won five straight, and is tied with North Florida atop the Continental Conference standings. Final score: COL 34, BAL 17
Players of the Week
Offensive: Bubba Deezen (RB – NSH): 161 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns, plus four catches for 30 yards and a receiving TD
Defensive: Kevin Cousineau (LB – LVB): 10 tackles (one for loss) and FOUR sacks
Special Teams: John Gradkowski (WR – CHI): four kick returns for 105 total yards, and five punt returns for an additional 26 yards
Here the preview for week 12 on Sunday January 4th 2026:
NYD @ GRD
Emi Tachibana was finally held to less than 300 passing yards for the first time in two months last week, but it still wasn't enough to prevent the Defiant from winning their 4th in their last 5. In the case of the Dragons, they've relied a good deal on Cassiano's ability to throw and make plays, and despite an injury ruling her out in their tilt against the Bandits, they were able to come out with a narrow win. The hidden storyline between both of these teams is their running games have been largely non-existent. The Dragons haven't ran for more than 100 yards against a team not named Miami at any point this season, and the Defiant haven't done so in 4 of their last 5 games. Cassiano is currently listed as questionable, but if she's able to take the field, this could be one of the quarterback duels of the season.
COL @ CHI
It's first place in the United West vs. first place in the Continental West. The Outlaws were shocked at home for the first time this season against the Corsairs in what was likely the biggest upset of the season up to this point, and their next test doesn't get easier against a top-tier passing defense when they welcome the Crushers to Magnificent Mile Stadium. Aspen Redfield continues to slice through defenses with his arm and all of their receivers have almost-equal share of the ball, a tall task for a league-worst pass defense in Chicago, who already has two starting cornerbacks on injured reserve. On top of all this, this game also has major playoff implications with both teams at 7-4. Chicago knows they need a bounce-back game in the WORST way this week to keep pace with the Tuts and Royal for the 1-seed. This should be a fun one.
NOC @ RIC
It's the first-overall pick rookie QB vs. the second-overall pick rookie QB in a pivotal matchup in Richmond. Theodore Dupre is coming off his best game as a pro in a statement win in Chicago, rescuing their season from the brink. They still got a lot of work to do to battle for a wild-card spot, but this has been a VERY promising season in New Orleans. Marc-Edouard Carpentier looked solid and did all he could in a high-scoring loss against the Tuts, but the defense couldn't make a stop when it needed to, and they continue to fall in the wild-card standings after four straight losses. The stat to know: the Corsairs have the 2nd-ranked pass offense in the UFFL through 11 weeks. The Flames are 4th. Another stat to know: The Corsairs have the 4th-worst scoring defense in the UFFL. The Flames have the 3rd-worst. How many points are the fans going to witness in Richmond?
NSH @ NFR
It's first place in the United East vs. first place in the Continental East. I just had a bit of dejavu, don't know why. Anyway. The Tuts continue to keep Royal fans frustrated by clinging onto the United East lead in what continues to be a spectacular season for them. In another universe, there'd be talks about how the Renegades are a top-4 defensive team in every metric this season and the Tuts have their work cut out for them this week, which is no doubt true and not something to be taken lightly, but, the Royal have a top-TWO defensive unit, and it didn't stop the Tuts from coming out of Montreal with a win a few weeks ago. The Renegades are 1.5 games up on Baltimore for the division lead, but due to scheduling restrictions and errors, the Ponies no longer play on the road for the rest of the regular season. They have no wiggle room to breathe comfortably just yet.
DWN @ ATX
Two teams in the thick of the Continental wild-card race meet in Austin for round 2, with the Waves winning a close game in Taylor in Week 6. The Blues have dropped 5 of 6 and are in absolute freefall, and it doesn't take long to point out that it's hard to win games with less-than-ideal quarterback play. Kai Koa has completed just 35.8% of his passes on the season, and only has one game all season with a completion percentage north of 50%. The season is in no-means lost for the Blues just yet, as they're just one game back of the final wild-card with seven to play, but you have to wonder if they'll think about giving 10-year veteran Peli Connors or 3rd-round rookie QB Ica Laanemaa some playing time to try and stop the bleeding. The Waves currently hold that aforementioned final wild-card spot, so this matchup could be pivotal in the playoff race.
MTL @ CAL
The Demons did all they could to try and claw their way back against the Defiant only to give up the winning touchdown in the last two minutes. They now find themselves 2.5 games behind them with seven to play, losing the tiebreaker to go along with it. Some good news in California is that they finally have their highly skilled LT and RT healthy together for the first time in a month, so that could help turn things around quickly. But, the schedule does them no favours with the Royal coming to Scorpions Dome in a game that could, COULD, see the Royal reclaim first place in their division. Christian Wright has done a wonderful job keeping things on track while Tyron Appleby continues to rehab his knee injury, as they start a three-game road trip with a firm grip of, at least, a playoff spot.
