I meant to draw the next bit of that little comic tonight, but my co-worker who lives in Quincy just found out about this local art group that meets at the Quincy Art Center and hosts weekly three hour model drawing sessions for cheap. So he invited me to go check it out with him after work.

We went, had a good time. It's very local, the Art Center is basically an empty little house in the suburbs with the rooms converted into studio space. Almost everybody there was a retiree and a devoted hobbyist, and most were very, very good, having practiced for a while as regular attendees.

The model this week (Porche) wasn't so good, she kept moving and squirming; could not keep still. So I gave up on doing full-figure stuff and just focused on portraiture.

As it turns out, there's a lot of local options for artists looking for community and resources. Very cool.
