It's tough being a working girl, but thankfully Cassie has people working below her who can regularly relieve the stress of the nine-to-five.

No. Your eyes don't deceive you. Yes, it's a picture of Cassie. A new picture of Cassie. I repeat, a new picture of Cassie.
(I don't believe hell has frozen over, though it is pretty snowy here in England today. )
Ever since creating the new profile pictures for my characters during last year's website revamp, I've had renewed interest in those characters that I've somewhat neglected over the years. Cassie has probably been the most neglected - not counting her profile picture from November, I haven't drawn a proper picture of Cassie since... wait for it... December 2008.
As I've explained before, there are a couple of reasons why I don't tend to draw Cassie that often. For one, I'm not confident in my depiction of female anatomy. And secondly, when I'm 'in the mood' for stuff of the feminine variety, I'm usually content to browse the swathes of material out there featuring human women. But every now and then, my furry female fancy comes-a-calling, and I felt it was about damn time I answered.
There's nothing particularly revolutionary about the concept of this picture - it's little more than the usual cliche of the office girl with stockings and high heels, but as I've said on several previous occasions, sometimes one can find comfort in a cliche. Especially a sexy one.
Folks who saw my second instalment of the Great Unfinished Collection a couple of weeks ago may recognise a segment of this picture. I started this piece in late January but it took me a while to get the angle right - needless to say, this type of panoramic vertical low-angle is a tough nut to crack, though I was relatively happy with the result in the end.
A few things I'm not 100% on - I never quite got the shape of the high heels right, nor was I ever convinced by the positioning of her legs and arms, and I still struggle to draw canine faces. I also had difficulty with her 'chest' in the earlier drafts but then came to the conclusion that if I were to draw this angle accurately, it would be hidden behind her legs anyway. The chair was also a bit of a pain - I based it upon my own swivel chair in my room and had to work from photographs for reference. Again, it's not completely accurate, but I think it works.
Even though I had written last year about my desire to return to a cartoon style, I actually felt I needed to go all the way with this in terms of realism. I've done very little with Cassie and I feel like I've never really done her justice with a proper, well-executed fetish picture, so I put more effort into the shading and went a bit nuts with texturing. (For anyone curious, the fur is simply two layers of blended brush strokes - one dark, one light - and the stocking was done using a modified texture and a warping brush.)
As my Great Unfinished Collection demonstrates, I've still got lots of stuff in the pipeline, but as I'm still currently in the unpredictable position of looking for work, it's never easy to say how long it'll be before I complete another picture. I'm hoping however to have something more done in the next two weeks, so watch this space.

RRRex...Everyone knows im gay and that I only like male feet.
...you are the first person to make a girls foot attractive.
I applaud you!!
OuO/
On a side note. This was a remarkable piece of art. Believe it or not I like the relative simplicity of the art. It doesnt have "too much detail" its simple and everything just felt right. I'm personally enjoying you going back to the whole simple stuff.
The details you DID put were wonderful and felt natural.
So amazing job my friend!~

Thank you very much, Pawseeker! (The girls do have their charms, y'know... )
Funny you should refer to this as 'simple' because in many ways, it was quite complicated! But you're right - I didn't want to be excessive in the level of detail. I've stopped doing all those lineless, uber-realistic things I used to do because, to be honest, they were no fun whatsoever.

Well thank you! To be fair, most of the uniquely-'female' anatomy isn't on display here, so it was more about just changing a few shapes and proportions to make them more feminine. I'm not sure I succeeded on that score, but I still think it's relatively obvious she's not a DOOD.
The eyes indeed are quite feminine :3 and honestly it's tough to tell with furries. They're often androgynous - well, unless they're exploding masses of muscle X'3 but yes. I think you did a great job and would personally love to see more of Cassie here. I think she needs a good pedi after the workday ;P
Me get a full time job drawing pictures, or get a full time job cleaning Cassie's feet?
Lol!
To be honest, I've never really pursued art as a career (I'm actually in journalism) and I think it'd probably drive me crazy because I'm too fussy about my standards.

Not a problem! Here's my character: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/cassietherockvixen
You might well be right, actually. I'm not sure I've drawn a proper view of her bare foot for the fandom before - she's always had some footwear on or hasn't been showing the sole.
So, I guess finally, here it is! Hope it was worth the wait!
Heh! Thanks.

RipRoarRex, words cannot describe how much I love this. This is an incredible piece of art you've made my friend. It's been so long since I've seen a non-posing picture of Cassie, that seeing this is like I'm taking a breath of fresh air. Cassie has always been one of my favorite characters from you, and because this is the first time I've seen a non-posing drawing of her since December 2008, is very exciting. I just love her expression and her teasing is so spot on, you nail it.
Her position on the chair is just right and the chair idea was a nice new idea for this particular scenario. The background looks simplistic and there's not much detail in it, but it's very appropriate since it directs our attention towards Cassie and her lovely and sweaty feet. It's the small details you put in Cassie that make it is so realistic and jaw-dropping. I love her expression on her face. I've noticed that you have a habit of drawing Cassie with her turned to the side, and I understand it can be difficult for you to execute this properly. However, for a scene and mood like this it works so well that such habits are immediately forgiven. Her face is just perfect and her eyes are well aimed down on the viewer. Her smile and her raised eyebrow definitely give her a seducing and teasing attitude. You did a great job drawing her as if she just got back from her 8-hour shift. Her hair is all messy and it looks sweaty. Speaking of which, You did a superlative job making her paws/soles the focus of the picture and I like how you drew her pads all sweaty on and in between her toes. The nylon stockings work well for her and I like the fact that you included her ankle bracelet. I admire how you drew one of her heels right in front of the viewer so that we're able to see that it has a worn out insole. I've noticed that you made them sweaty on the inside as well which is delightful.
I think the size of the heels came out alright. As for who's perspective this is from, my guess is that you left it for speculation. It looks like this perspective could be from a micro, or Mike, or Mike turned into a micro which are exciting ideas. The amount of work you put in texturing this shows that you are a virtuoso at this type of art.
I apologize for my very long praise/critique but I wanted to let you know how much I love this piece of art form you. I look forward to your future projects.
Thank you very much RRRex.

Well thank you for the in depth response, jordan!
I think I've only ever submitted a couple of pictures of Cassie that weren't just simple poses, so this is certainly the first "non-posing" one in a long time. I wanted to keep the background simple because I was trying to finish it yesterday and didn't want to spend ages working on a part of the picture that nobody really cared about! Besides that, I just wanted a simple room that could work as an office setting, with just a bit of carpet and skirting board detail.
It's not really a habit for me to draw Cassie in particular from the side - I just find it difficult drawing any characters face on, whereas profile views are always easier. It's probably only noticeable with Cassie because I've drawn such a small number of pictures of her and, by definition, there's fewer pictures to feature different angles, unlike Rexar for example.
And as I've said to a few other folks, yes, the perspective is open to interpretation depending on how the viewer would like to imagine the scenario.
Thanks again!

Ah... Cassie.
Memories from year 2009 are coming, in which I found your site and this playful canine along with it.
The only big problem I have with your art is that you don't use females that much. They need some love, too. Although having a problem with drawing female's chest is a good reason not to draw girls.
Anyway, this picture is amazing. I love it.

Heh - have you seen the new "Great Unfinished Collection" I posted a couple of weeks ago? http://www.furaffinity.net/view/10102792/ There's a Rocky comic on the way.
i think i have a new favorite pic for this year lately i've been daydreaming about scenarios like this, and how hot it would be to be forced down there.. having to li-- oh my i think i can never stop writing my naughty thoughts down. and how moist the inside of that shoe looks *w* fffffff
Ooohhohhoo... damn - I like! Given your hesitance to do female anatomy, I think this picture takes a wonderfully creative approach to err... masking it with the item of main focus. ;) They shape of her footpaw is beautiful, and just looks SO inviting. I must say, this is instantly one of my faves of yours for the general shape, look and design of the footpaw, and the awesomeness of the scenario. :)
As I've said before, don't worry about when you can finish work and post and stuff - life and career are the priority. Finding work after school can sometimes be a hell of a trudge, so best of luck to you. :) Maybe thoughts of Cassie like this picture will help get you through the hard days. ;)
