This little girl (we assume girl cause she's huge) is a Peregrine Falcon.
She's roughly a month old.
She was picked out of her nest by a guy who claims he found it hiking and assumed this hatchling was abandoned.
He decided to keep her as a pet (which is a federal offense in the US). He hand raised her and she made friends with his cat and has no fear of predators or humans now. Sadly she is imprinted on humans and won't be able to be raised and returned to the wild.

This person doomed her to live her life in captivity because he thought she'd make a great pet and quickly found out she wouldn't.
We're applying to keep her at the center as an education bird since we have this big new Peregrine friendly mew that our elderly female was terrified of.

There will be updates and more pictures of her posted to as she grows into an education bird. She'll be spending her days in ICU until we get our permits for her and can move her to her exhibit mew and train her for programs.
