Finally, back in the field and no longer dealing with those pesky stats. Geology happens on all sorts of scales. Think rift valleys are caused by diverging continental plates? Nope, it's just  iridium stomping the landscape into submission. True facts, I've seen it happen.

Fun bonus fact: The extinction of the dinosaurs is marked in the geological record by a layer of rock known as the K-T boundary. This boundary is distinct from others in that it is high in the element iridium. A meteor strike didn't kill the dinosaurs, they were all stomped into oblivion by  iridium (which is probably why they are all so flat in those fossils. It's science.)
