Name: Ezekiel Luke Emmerson
Super villain name: Dr. Splicer
DOB: June 5, 1975
POB: Phoenix, AZ.
Age: 36
Gender: Male
Species: Norway Rat
Nationality: USA
Height: 5’ 3”
Weight: 125 lbs.
Eye colour: Brown
Hair Colour: Brown fur save for a patch of off-white around the left side of his face.
Physical Appearance: Typical for a rat of his age, along with some oddities that only become easily observable once he flexes the inlaid gills embedded into his neck to allow him to breathe underwater.
Occupation: Genetic Scientist, interested in gaining money for his own personal research.
Areas of Operation: Scattered worldwide, wherever who is willing to pay the cost of his price for genetic alterations. Typically limited to the western world powers, but has some labs within Russia and Japan. Main research facility is in Los Angelos, with sub-labs in Colmaton, Chicago (currently abandoned), Dallas, Phoenix, Miami, Seattle, Moscow, London, Berlin, Cairo, Cape Town, Sydney, Tokyo, and Hilo.
Weapons: A pair of Desert Eagles modified to fire a smaller calibre round due to his small hands. Average shot, for he prefers to not engage in combat at all. Also usable, are the various knives he keeps close at hand in his lab for cutting research subjects, typically scapels.
Fighting Styles: He has no real fighting experience, and could become frazzled at having to even defend himself. Because he knows he has no experience, he would rather run and evade capture, rather than get into a fight.
Strengths: Even with his multiple samplings from various super heroes over the years, he never attempted to enhance his own body, save for two powers.
The first ability is having gills grown into the side of his neck, allowing him the ability to breathe underwater. This would facilitate him swimming away into the water mains, and escaping at various access points underground in a city’s water supply.
The second ability comes from his successful infusion of an electric eel’s organ which can allows him to discharge a highly concentrate charge of energy. Also useful in pursued underwater by a hero, to zap them into unconsciousness if they dare to try and follow his escape route.
Weaknesses: A side effect of the gill implants, is the fact that he has to submerge at least for two hours a day in a water tank, in order to keep the gills moisturized and ready at any time for an emergency escape.
Outfits: Normally encountered within a testing facility, he rarely sees the need to change into normal clothing to interact with others outside the lab. His clothing at this time is jeans, a light shirt, and shoes, worn under a long lab coat to keep his clothing clean.
When outside, the Doctor wears light colored clothing and jeans, unless he is headed for some country leader. Only then will he fully dress up in a suit and tie, mainly to impress the other fur.
Bio:
Ezekiel was born to a low income family, but as time went by, he proved himself by achieving high marks at his local school in sciences. As he approached high school, a beloved grandmother began to suffer from the effects of cancer, and died before he graduated. This focused his mind to researching into the various forms of cancer, as he was accepted into the University of Arizona. His first path into the field of medicine was directed to being a medical doctor, until he realized by various articles in several medical journals, that genetics might prove a more valuable path of defeating cancer itself. He returned to the University, eager to learn more in order to defeat this great menace to furkin.
Since the field of genetics was still young in the mid-90’s, he found himself frustrated at having to literally create the needed equipment from his imagination to actual hardware which proved important for his research. Along the way, he found another medical researcher, who’s area of expertise was very similar to his own. Working together with Carolyn Redsmith proved to be very fruitful, for her gentle teasing and suggestions cause Ezekiel to become relaxed for the first time in years since his grandmother grew ill. Within two years, he proposed to the gerbil, who accepted his love.
Carolyn’s own research drew Ezekiel from his work, as the pair focused their attention to try and solving the world hunger problem. Tests with injecting modified algae into animals proved successful, in an attempt to have the algae live within a body, using sunlight to create food while the algae lived off the waste produced by the surrounding cells.
Eager to prove their research, they contacted the university head in order to pave the way for live fur testing. This led to various other outside individuals learning of their work who eventually came up with a way to discredit their research, but also blacklist the couple from any future research into this field.
Gaining access to the couple’s research notes, modifications were made to the computer files, as a strike team slipped in to alter their samples. Having been given the go ahead for further testing, the pair were allowed to bring in more students to assist in creating a variant of the algae for live testing. Using now the changed research papers, the couple continued to work for another month til during a period of saving their data, Carolyn realized that what they had been doing had not been their real goal, but instead, was someone else’s. As she attempted to learn more, an agent who had gained access to their team slipped Carolyn one afternoon a drink with their modified algae experiment cocktail, that had also been laced with what the other team had been doing.
To Ezekiel’s horror, Carolyn’s body began to sprout tiny tendrils and shoots, growing rapidly on her body. As he took samples in an attempt to try and capture the rapid growth of this process, the agent arranged for the head professor to arrive in a ‘random’ review of their work. To the older furs horror at Carolyn’s exposure to this genetic monstrosity, he contacted the local police and government agencies who came in and impounded both the research but also Carolyn’s body as a bio-hazard.
Ezekiel found himself blocked at every turn in his attempt to gain access to Carolyn, while the opposition used the opportunity to complete their black listing. With no access to his mate, and his work discredited, Ezekiel fell into a depression for several months. Even his time as a practitioning physician was called into question, and every attempt to work with patients were closed off due to the black listing.
At this time, Ezekiel was approached by a gentlefur in need of medical assistance. He needed surgery in order to alter his appearance, in order to escape the law tracking him down. Ezekiel agreed but at a stiff price, fifty thousand dollars. Without batting an eye, the gentleman paid the full price, and requested the operation to be ready within a week.
Stunned, Ezekiel operated six days later, and once the patient was safely in recovery, he sat down to contemplate his future. With the money on hand, he could rebuild his research, but he knew he needed a lot more money to try and find a cure for Carolyn’s condition. Even as the sample’s that he had smuggled out before her being taken away rested safe in storage, he knew he needed a cure before he could track down her whereabouts.
For the next four years, Ezekiel continued to operate illegally on various criminals, gang members, anyone who could pay his fees. And as the doctor rebuild his lab and acquired several new apprentices, he turned his work now into doing research on the various superheroes of the world. Collecting blood from battle fields, then examing their blood, he was able to learn how some had sections of their DNA altered via various methods to become the power houses they were. Overtime, Dr. Splicer became born, who could adapt any other creature to add powers or abilities on demand into his patients.
Dr. Splicers current goal is twofold. Al deep love for Carolyn drives him onwards to expand his research into every super’s blood he can gain a sampling of. One of them just might contain the answer he has been looking for all this time, into curing his love.
His second, lesser goal, is to find out just who it was on his team who betrayed him and his mate, as well as exposing the opposition who infected Carolyn to the modified experiment that overtook her body.
Personality: A determined gentleman, Dr. Splicer has been forced to work with the underworld for money to live on, as well as pay for his research. If he could escape the other criminals who seek his help for splicing powers to themselves or their hench furs, he would chuck it all in order to go back to what he really wanted to do from the beginning.
