CCR - Travelin' Band: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VwcJ5WQSamQ&feature=related
This collection of scenes was made entirely for my good friend Warriorcatroseeyes who without flaw always been there on my Worthless pictures with a thoughtful insightful comment. Her favorite car is the Red Muscle car..which unfortunately I've drawn the least.
I've enjoyed reading her comments almost as much as drawing the pictures themselves. She seems to share the same over-analyzing mind that I have. It's not uncommon to get strings of comments 3 paragraphs long to each-other swapping ideas and theories related to the cars, the BLT universe, or whatever.
So the thing behind this drawing is this. WC on her comments for my "BobbyLee Doodles" picture told me of 3 distinct scenarios that popped into her head while looking my drawing and listening to the music I linked to. Not to put you on the spot WC, but here's what she said:
- The Superbird zzzzooooming past a 55 mph speedlimit sign, sending it spinning
- Georgia pulling her car up to a car wash; he's covered head to to in dust and mud, save for the windshield wiper range on his windshield.
- It's a cool sunset in the summer, speeding down the road of an expansive, vacant highway. Georgia sticks her head out and closes her eyes, enjoying the cool breeze and freedom. The Superbird is doing the same C:
Just from reading this and other comments, I got the impression she really was attached to the characters and was really in the same mindset about them as I am. :) It was truly a pleasure to do this surprise gift-art for her because honestly I wanted to see them myself. I knew as soon as I read those scenarios that I HAD to draw them. It's just too bad that it took me THIS long to finally do it. XD
Last note, the only scene I really changed was the 'dirty Bobby' scene. Like WC said, he'd be pulling into a car-wash..but I didn't have a enough room for all that..barely enough for even him. So I settled for merely making him muddy and filthy. XD Not to toot my own horn but I'm SO happy with how came out. I kinda went for giving him a panting happy dog pose and expression. I feel like he'd be the type who loves to get down and dirty. ^^

Do you have proof of that? He's not listed in the cast on IMDB, and the movie certainly didn't have the budget to be hiring big celebs. I mean yeah, I always imagined him as the voice, I'd listen to CCR songs imaging it's the car singing it and such.. but like I said.. imagined..
TWO proven things though. Pinky the convertible was voiced by Susie Allanson the movie's singing talent coordinator, she was in charge of deciding on and hiring on all the people who sang in the songs. She was a small time country singer herself. Here's one of her songs, you can just HEAR the Pinky in it. I've been TRYING to contact her and see if she can tell me who she had do the voices for Bobby Lee and the other cars I don't know the voices for. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cJmh16bfEWk
Also the Woodie Wagon, Callie, was voiced by Beth Anderson who did a song from Scarface and, awesomely as I just found out recently. She was the female background vocalist for the Limahl Neverending Story theme song.. doing the iconic "ahhh ahhh ahhh" in the chorus.
