Welcome back. Today we will be taking a look at the Dusk, one of the nocturnal breeds. Being combinations of barn or snowy owls and puma, mountain lion, or panthers, the Dusk were designed to be true savage warriors of the night. On average, they were about four feet tall on all fours. their primary function was night assaults on enemy bases and camps. They usually used the darkness to get close enough to kill any soldiers on watch before raiding the sleeping quarters of any troops before lights could be raised and the men could arm. This often placed them working with another breed we will discuss later, known as the Diriki. The Dusk and the Diriki were both considered border line failures as gryphal breeds with their incredible weakness. their eyes were so specialized to dark vision, they had an extreme sensitivity to light, and could easily be blinded by anything brighter than moonlight. Their only saving grace was their extreme effectiveness at their sneak attacks that left devastating losses and weakened defenses so much that near impenetrable blockades fell to small forces after being ravaged by Dusk assaults the night before. Strong, swift, and silent, the dusk were fighters to the core, though they were not blessed with strong defenses other than sharp minds and wondrous agility as most of their opponents were dressed in bed clothes and often tangled in their own bedding. The dusk were rumored to be intelligent enough to use weapons and manipulate devices while solving problems. They showed signs of enough intellect to speak, and it was even stated in their creator's notes on the creatures that they were created with the ability to do so, but there is no record of any Dusk ever speaking a single word. With their extinction, it is questionable if they never spoke by choice, or a glitch in their design.
