Just felt like I really needed to do this.
I'll write some stuff about her if anyone is interested.
Why Star when her name is Anastasia?
Well when she was a little kid learning to talk she couldn't pronounce her name properly (she is named after her Russian grandmother on her mothers side) So she used to say
"Am a Star See-er" thinking she had magic powers to see the stars at night, not realizing everyone can see the stars. Her parents and older brothers found this both adorable and amusing so she was nicknamed Star. It stuck.
Star actually utterly loathes being called Anastasia. She would change her name by deed poll but would not want to dishonor her grandmothers name. Only official people and relatives know of her true name everyone else refers to her as Star. Call her Anastasia at your own risk.
Her hair.
Yep. Its all fake. Bleached into oblivion and then dyed into whatever shade is currently taking Stars fancy. She changes it fairly regularly although has taken a particular Shine (no pun intended) to her current colour scheme.
She is fairly rebellious, which doesn't sit well with her occupation. Being exceptional at what she does, having high ranking parents in the forces (and having been awarded the distinguished Service medal for exceptional leadership in the field of battle) means she has a little bit more breathing room to express herself than would normally be allowed for a soldier of her rank. Being given this leeway just makes her want to push her boundaries even more, to see how much she can get away with.
Recently had her tongue pierced. No-one at work has noticed yet.

Doesn't sugar coat her opinions but knows when to use tact
It's passionate about life and living it to its fullest
Is not creative in any sense whatsoever
Knows how to party hard, can drink a lot of guys under the table and will dance all night.

Is a closet Adult baby. Has always had this weird desire to be babied and dominated. She finds it deeply arousing to be overpowered and humiliated, yet in equal measures she hates feeling powerless. She also imagines it would be emotionally fullfilling to be babied in loving parental figure kind of way.
She was the youngest child had a great upbringing, only girl of the family out of three older brothers, her mum molly coddled her a little bit, and she certainly has daddy issues but Star can't analyze why she wants to be treated like an infant and its a constant source of shame for her.
Feels very wary around young children. They put her on edge. She also hates custard and cauliflower, and would rather tear her eyes out than watch a chick flick. Doesn't like mice. Very much NOT a girly girl. The only makeup she owns is warpaint. And the only time she'd ever want to see Justin Bieber would be on the shooting range as a target.

*nods* Yeah I must admit I was on page 4 or 5 of shine colouring in Star thinking...Jeez...why did i make her markings so complicated gem is pretty much one colour all over with teh exception of her face and tufts on her ears Star is so much more high maintenance LOL
Your welcome *blushes* but remember the reason I was editing that was for you to better understand the grammar since I wasn't able to explain it well. So use the edited one for example of how quotes and things are done, I do think I left a couple small mistakes on it though so ignore those.
ooh...then what type of music does Star like to listen to? what's her favorite sport to watch? or participate in? favorite team or athlete? drink guys under the table too...drink of choice? how potent does she like her alcohol?
personally, a martini gets me sloshed for a good couple hours, and that's about 1¼ oz. of pure alcohol if it's 3 oz. of 80 proof gin or vodka.

See, the real reason I keep up with Shine is shown right in the description. Star's desires have so much mystery behind them, and it's so fascinating to explore Star's psychology in order to solve the puzzle. I always thirst for those precious flashback scenes and emotional exposition, as those put me another step closer to really understanding how Star, an admittedly complex and deep character, really ticks.
Okay, even though I don't quite understand the "adult baby" thing, I really like how it's incorporated into her character and personality. Her design is aesthetically pleasing to look at and original, and her backstory is interesting. All in all, lovely character, and wonderful art. <3
I think her being a soldier fits very well. She has a lot of energy and courage yet is submissive by nature. She doesn't mean submitting to the authority of someone else.
I am still curious as to what her limit is in ABDL. Will she mess her diaper? Will she let the mess be played with and be allowed to stew or will she immediately want a change? How about spankings? We know she likes soft spankings but what about hard ones? Will she allow her behind to become purple and bruised? Will she let herself be bullied and belittled or will she actually use the safeword to put a stop to that?
Overall though she makes a lot of sense as a character. There are just gaps that haven't come up in the story that I would like to see filled.

That stud in her tongue is a really nice teach. It shows her rebellious side very well. Subtle and mostly hidden but there nonetheless.
Also I don't know if it's deliberate or not but it being on her tongue is a nice metaphor as well. In that she talks rebellious but she very rarely actually acts like it. All the times she's a "bad kitten" is her indirectly asking for punishment rather than actually wanting to do the bad deeds.

Her weight though is a little weird. 100 pounds is REALLY light even considering her short height. I would think given that she's a soldier she would be a little more buff. Muscles are 3,3 times heavier than fat so her being muscled would add a lot of weight.

I love your Shine series. (I have been binge reading) It is such a wonderful adventure and I wanted to give you some feedback regarding story arcs. My complaint is that Star is brand new to this world and *bam!* in only one week she is attending the party of the season. That is not only overwhelming to Star but to us readers who are also learning about this world. You might have eased us in so you could finish with a climax (forgive the double entendre) of the big party of the year.
On another note, there are a few panels where I have to say you did an exquisite job on those Lynx ears!
Was this story completely spontaneous or did you get the idea from similar works. I would like to read more about ABDL from the female point of view.

I was kinda writing shine based on my own experiences. When I first discovered abdl I too jumped in with both feet without thinking meeting several people and doing some....quite frankly dangerous stuff. So whilst it may seem unrealistic to you it's pretty much what happened to me. I think it's not unrealistic for people to just throw themselves in without thinking especially when it's stuff that they've fantasied about for years and the opportunity is given to them. But then my opinion is probably skewed as I'm just going from personal experience.
By the time she got to the house party it was actually 3 years in the making. I think if I'd dragged it out any further the readers would have lynched me but don't worry the party was only there to build character development. It was no way the climax of the story.
The idea wasn't spontaneous nor was it from similar work (if you know any feel free to point me in the right direction as I'd be interested to read) it was purely brought about from something I'd always wanted to make as a female in the community and as someone who grew up feeling alone and a freak I wanted to create something to make others feel more at ease with themselves whilst also trying to show that the journey isn't all sunshine and roses and that there are predators and dishonest people out there.

I actually did not find it unrealistic. I have not experienced such things myself, but I can sense when a writer is being sincere or just indulging in random fantasy (I am a science writer of sorts). To be fair, I have to classify myself as a DL, But I was really drawn in o this whole age play and think maybe there is something there for me. I have been in a few romantic relationships, but rarely have I had that intense emotional bond that comes from sharing one's inner secret life (and can relate to Star's dilemma). I also recognize the valuable therapeutic power this can have in the stresses of modern age. People do really misunderstand when they think it is only about kinky sex.
Dare I dream? The more I thought about it, the more I realize I am a lot like Lure. Is there really such a satisfying place in the ABDL world for a person like that?
