This is a revamp of an older piece. Now I know there is going to be at least one person crying "NNOOOOO! I like the older one better!" because without fail, every damn time I do a revamp, that happens. So if you like the older version better, here it is: http://bjpentecost.deviantart.com/a.....-Claw-74301889 I don't know why you would like a plasticy, stiff thing like that but hey, whatever floats your boat or tickles your fancy. That was actually one of the first digital paintings I had ever done. I think I had only been using Photoshop for about a year at that point.
Blueclaw is part red fox and part fennec with some Aedaha in his ancestry (hence the lanky, elongate build).
Photoshop, 25hrs + whatever it took to accomplish the original painting (can't remember, probably 20hrs or something).

The only thing I can criticize is that if you have rings/collars the fur will be smoothed down on the bottom and going over the top, unless he just put them on >.> and when a fur based anything get scars that deep the fur on top goes white a snow. The fact that i am criticizing those points means it's so realistic i expected to see those things.
When you stop making art I suspect there will be a hole left by your absence on FA and anywhere you post. What you do is nothing short of amazing and I could applaud you till the end of time.

The first thing was an oversight on my part. See how the fur is behaving that way over the loincloth? I just need to do the same to the arm bands and a little bit around the collar. The problem is that with attempting realism, there are literally thousands of different things I have to keep track of. A few things always slip through the cracks and that's one of them. So thanks for pointing that out. As to the scars... that is something I didn't know. ^__^
Mmmmmhmmmmm. "Mascot head" sizes tend to infantilize characters. Tinyhead Syndrome is a terrible disability, won't you please give?
I am sue there is a balance somewhere, but the elongation adds to that "young appearance, especially with the quality of the anatomy and the realism of the lighting. I'd suggest just playing with it for a bit.

I finally got a better internet connection. Before, every time I clicked on an image on FA to make it bigger, it would take FOREVER, and I would give up. So I have not been able to enjoy the full detail of your pictures, for the most part.
Now that I have a better connection, I am going back and looking at the larger images of your submissions, and...WOW. Not that I ever questioned your amazingness, but just WOW. Now I can really see all the details of your hard work--faster, so I don't give up before i get to see them.

Hmmm. Don't know what dat is... GOOGLE! You mean dis? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trine_2 That looks neat as hell. I'd love to participate in making a game. ^__^ I think that would be awesome. Maybe someday I'll get to do that.
As has been said, there's nothing wrong or bad about the older version, it's just a different style. Both look good, but I have to say that this newer version is definitely more eye-catching than the original. And if you held them up side-by-side, it actually looks like they're from different artists, which shows how much your style has grown. :D
Why would I not like this one better? heh. I mean unless that was the style I was looking for.
This turned out really well. The "stretched" look you have for your characters is there, but I see a lot of thought went into making the proportions pleasing to the eye. As always, the amazing detail is... amazing. Keep it up!
