"He said to come away with him.
That he would take me from this place. The marriage that my father wished for me, despite my vehement objections.
I knew what he was. Always had an inkling. Under the guise of dark hair, sultry eyes, and a voice of such low timbre, I knew. He wasn't human. Farthest thing from it, in fact.
But that did not stop me.
For I would rather be with him - in all his dangerous glory - than be shackled."
---
An older piece of mine. The Kelpie and his (willing) bride. I'd like to imagine that she goes away with him, freely. That he, despite being what he is, dotes on her. Brings her treasures from across the Fae world. Takes her for rides along the seashore.
I did this piece to tell a story, mixing in a few Language of Flowers into it. Unfortunately, you can't really see them in the final version of the piece. But there's "Dangerous beauty", "innocence", and a few other symbolic meanings mixed in.
