Fanart time!
Watched HTTYD & HTTYD2 recently again, and after seeing this particular scene in the movie I just really felt like I wanted to draw it! *v*
It's not really referenced off the scene so there are some things that don't really 'match' and I took some artistic liberty with, but hope it's still recognisable for those of you who have seen the movie!
(and I hope it's not very spoilery for those who haven't - IF YOU HAVEN'T WATCH IT goshh one of the best movies ever)
I'm pretty happy with this, since I didn't really use that many layer effects for the lights and shadows, it's mostly handpainted (apart from some glowy effects) and I'm happy with myself that I could quite comfortably pull that off. Practise has worked! B)

How wonderful to see an image of Toothless that celebrates his fierce side! So often he's reduced to the level of cute pet, but NOT HERE. You've captured everything about him so well...the scales, musculature, the teeth, the wings. This is EXACTLY how I picture this dragon.
Loved the vignettes of the other species in the background. You've done a fantastic job with them, too.
