A kirin is an asian unicorn. They look a little like yours. I reckoned by the way you pronounce her name that might've been your inspiration.

They are surprisingly similar, for eastern and western beasts who've never met one another. ;> What I know of kirins is that they are horned, maned and scaley. They have cloven hoves and tails like lions. The females are delicate and beautiful, while the males are burly and often antlered. Kirin are the highest on the totem pole of Japanese mythical beasts, and they are utterly benign. The only time they break out the violence is when evildoers threaten the just, whereupon a kirin will retaliate with its breath of sacred fire.

That's the extent of my kirin knowledge...you can probably learn more from the internet, if you're so inclined. :>

I will have to do that.. I actually based Yuni off of a unicorn like that- it was nothing like I had seen before.. with the two toes (no a hoofs) and then the clawed paws ^^;; it was just too cool... :D
