You can collect pets in World of Warcraft. Pets have always been something you could find, build or buy at auction houses, but since I stopped playing, they put in this game within the game to where you can pit your little pets up against the various critters running around in the wild or in towns. During the battle session you can throw a cage over the opponent and capture it. Its health has to be low enough to do that, though.
It's pretty much based on the concept of Pokemon, which I never played, but I do love the pet battles in WoW.

I love WAR2. Its how I got into wow to begin with. In fact I used to dislike the idea of warcraft being turned into some RPG when I was younger, but then I played it and got hooked.
I recommend you check out the old Warcraft 2 music(The in-game ost in wow is a bit different from the original.) It's super awesome!
