the problem is that that is such an unlikely coincidence. the color and style of the hair is the same and the metal arm is the same arm modified to have the claws and a different look on the opposite side of the body. there is nothing posted about him on your page that goes back before the story you posted four years ago. I admit that that seems pretty different but it just doesn't seem to be proof that it isn't inspired from the show. and it's fine if it is really, that's just something that needs to be owned up to.
Started my current career in 2007, and had been studying in the same field since mid 2004. I make artificial arms and legs for a living, and wanted to tie my main character into that. So, he got a few prosthetic parts. I do admit I am a fan of FMA now, but at the point in time that Sy got his new look, the only anime I was a fan of was Ghost in the Shell. Syphon was not influenced in any way, shape, or form by Edward Elric.
