I don't know if you know this - but four-fingered characters has been a long-standing tradition for comics, animated works, and cartoonists for decades -
four fingers, or rather 3 fingers & 1 thumb, is the standard for these reasons -
-the practice simplifies the hand immediately off the bat when drawing multiple panels/multiple animation cells which streamlines the process, lopping considerable time off of the struggle to get the hand 'right' and therefore increasing productivity for both comic artists and cartoonists.
- often matches the softer or more stylized aesthetics of cartoon characters, animals and human alike.
- four fingered hands are easier to 'read' by the audience, and a fifth finger actually serves to clutter and distract the eye more often than not, pulling attention away from the main focus of the image
- beyond serving these purposes the practice sets up a sort of 'traditional feel' and a link to comics/cartoons of the past as a sort of stylistic tribute among some modern artists who make this choice.
Honestly you probably didn't notice because it's such a common practice among comic artists, and having only 4 fingers oddly enough doesn't set off our internal 'odd anatomy alert' as often as a 5-fingered hand!
Regardless of the reason, this is definitely a conscientious choice by Star and reveals her knowledge of her chosen art form! :D
Thanks for pointing that out - honestly i hadn't noticed, myself!

Time runs rather slow in web comics. Another one I read have been going for almost 10 years of two or three strips a week and I think the characters are coming up on month 4. Although that one takes has a lot of RPG content so a DnD game that lasts a few hours can be dragged out for weeks.
I can't tell if it's just the angle or if Manda has an evil smile goin' on there..x3
Either way this page is adorable ^^
Reminds me of the one and only time I got to do that...It was such a special day for me....it's such a shame it turned out later on that the guy'd been leading me on >.>
We had such a close bond, but in the end he left me for a woman.
When he tried to get me to take him back, huh, well, I bet you can already guess my answer "no"

Though this page is over 4 years old now, I must comment. I recently stumbled this story entirely by chance and I was hooked. I made an account here just to read it in full. I’m not so much into stuff like this myself but this the most adorable thing I have read in years. Incredible to see you’ve been writing and illustrating this for 6 years now. Keep going until you reach a satisfying conclusion.
