It is pieces like this I intend to look for an artist to commission... But so many commission guides are based on characters..
How come it took those two years, though? As in.. Lack of time or interest? Was it harder to do?

Most people are looking for character commissions 'cuz that's what makes it personal for them :) In a lot of cases you can ask an artist about special commissions, and get a quote.

As for why it took two years, I put it aside and forgot about it, because I was having a lot of trouble with it back then. http://www.furaffinity.net/full/13296269/ This is what it looked like the last time I touched it.

I can imagine that, especially in this community. It is definitely not a bad thing, allows for a lot of variation.
I will say, this version does look like quite the improvement from the previous state...
Hm.. How confident might you be in oriental themed grand structural backgrounds? Together with pieces of a valley and both the inside and outside view of said structure?
Otherwise, would you, per chance, have recommendations for people good at such scenic pieces, no characters involved?
