Did you modulate your voice as the backing, or did someone do it?

Somebody else made the track with back up vocals (supposedly sounding like Bowie). I'm not sure if it would sound better or worse if I modulated my own voice for harmonies lol

It would, actually...if you recorded yourself singing twice over, and then modulated one to something that would fit somewhere else on, say, the circle of fifths, you could make a very nice harmony.

Ohhh see, I thought you meant modulating it down the octave to sound male. I was not thinking it would work out so well lol.

As far as modulating my voice for harmonies, yeah it'd sound cool but why not just sing the harmony part? It's more fun that way

Egh, it wasn't as noticeable in your Still Alive cover because it was running all the time through the whole song. Your mic has background noise something fierce, and your voice is noticeably clipped to synch with the song because of it.
There isn't much I can offer as far as the 'life on Maaaaaaaaaaaaaars' part, because I don't know what happened. It sounded like your voice was cracking each time you dropped an octave. Possibly project more, but you've already noted, you were singing kinda softly, and when you do that, voice cracking tends to happen. Not enough air flow.

Yeah, I'm getting a better mic second to getting a mac keyboard, the windows one is driving me CRAZY! When I can actually project and sing properly the Maaars should sound a lot fuller and in key.
