i mean... think about it. where would he get the skin of a skunk's butt? even if he bought it from a shop its still the skin of a fellow animal... it had to have come from a skunk one way or another...
the idea of this is... well something inspired from playing GTA 4 and stuff. gotta pay your debts one way or another. maybe the skunk owed Nick or the mammals nick was working for... i dont know. but this is how i think he got the thing.
but anyways its all good... its just a prank. he's a good guy now. no one has to know about his dark past.

Actually, this might not be how it played out.
First of all, there are real world hair buyers/sellers. its not unreasonable to assume that in zootopia they could do a lot more then just wigs, and the fur does NOT need to be pulled with skin attached. of course it would still be weird if someone walked into someone's house and found their own fur made into a rug.
