A (very) old drawing of Vanya Dural, the main character of my story "Shattered Stone," originally printed in YARF! back around 1993 and rewritten last year: consider this a preview of sorts for next week.

“Shattered Stone” by Watts Martin: appeared in Yarf! issue fifty-four, pages nineteen through twenty-nine, and issue fifty-five, pages fifteen through twenty-four. This illustration did not appear in either issue.
Yarf!’s role in the fandom at the time was to act as a sort of “Vaudeville”—a place, as one founder stated, for people to be bad. It provided a venue for artists and writers to hone their craft, on their way to bigger and better things. Watts, of course, already had achieved a professional level of expertise, but other contributers still were working on it.
