Popplio's line gets the best typing, the best movepool, and the best z-move of all the starters (f***ing SPIRIT BOMB!!!). My Primarina has been wrecking everyone I go against, hell I took just him to the League and won every battle!

Psychic, moonblast and surf are its best moves and I cycle out ice beam, shadow ball and energy ball depending on what i am going up against.

Psychic and moonblast I agree with, surf I do not. Sparkling Aria ignores substitute, making it my water move of choice for Primarina. The last slot is definitely a situational one though, I agree completely there.

No problem. Competitively The are better Z-users, but Oceanic Operetta is so much fun to use. That being said, choice specs is the way to go here. Or possibly an assault vest for ridiculous special defense.

Having used all three, I disagree. Incineroar seem like a really tricky one to use effectively because of the typing; he's slow and has a lot of common weaknesses. Plus his design is something of a letdown for me. Decidueye isn't fast but he's fast enough, and grass/ghost typing has been good defensively. Having mixed attacking capabilities is a mixed blessing if you'll pardon the pun; it gives a lot of issues deciding what to run. His exclusive move is nice though, the trapping effect is really useful competitively. Primarina has to be my favorite though; the typing is amazing defensively, Primarina gets the best movepool and the strongest attacking stat of the three (Base 126 special attack, Incineroar has base 115 attack and Decidueye is a mixed attacker), plus an exclusive move that does spread damage, hits through substitute, and heals your allies of burns in double and triple battles. Primarina's physical defense is a letdown though, and the base sixty speed is horrendous - too slow for regular play and too fast for trick room.

This is all just from my experience though, everyone likes different things.

Honestly, Popplio didn't really impress me when I first saw it; I'm usually a fire starter, and even with that predisposition towards fire pokemon, Rowlet managed to pull my attention away from both Popplio and Litten very easily. That being said, the little seal has kinda grown on me, and I've found myself more interested in him and Rowlet than I do Litten. This has been an odd generation for me so far.
