Jeeeeeeeeez. Thank you! That is flattering and means a lot to hear.
I tried to keep in mind while painting this what Nerdrum said of portraits-- that they can't ever be "solo" in reality, the figure MUST be in conversation with the viewer. I thought I didn't exactly succeed there, although the likeness is correct. So-- yeah-- I'm glad it has a palpable mood, and one that reminds you of Nerdrum.
I was actually shy about uploading it for a long time because whenever I looked at it I just thought "eh, not worth it"
