Info about Inklings from the creator:
"Inklings are a small breed of gooey dragon that have no face. They are tricksters and very cunning. They are slimy sticky little guys (figuratively and literally).
Their height ranges anywhere from 1 foot to 3 feet. They manifest from the ground using the available minerals which can leave them looking jet black or a dirty musty brown like dirt.
Their back legs are used for making large impressive leaps up to 10 feet but they are also known to run fairly fast. Not only are their hind legs good for jumps but they have hand like paws that allow them to grasp branches and other limbs for easier landings.
These little "foxes" are excellent listeners and very impressive at swallowing their food whole since their mouths open 180 degrees. Oddly enough Inklings only have a set of teeth on their masks. The lower teeth are made up of rocks or hard materials found in the environment around them.

Some inklings carry lanterns. These inklings are known to be more devious than their kin that don't carry lanterns. This little devils like to lead others astray into areas that are not very well known or traveled by the individual they are leading. Once they know their companion is lost they'll begin to play a harsh game of hide and seek with only their lantern being the brightest clue of their position.
Lanterns vary dramatically with each inkling.
Dragon inklings are special, because these inklings materialized from gemstone"
