I'm confused. Are you looking for a professional opinion on the quality to time spent ratio of this piece?
I am sure that I agree with you that this is fun piece. I must admit that I am a little surprised that she is wearing a white bikini. I though she would wear something eye catching or colorful.

Yes, that is what I'm looking for. Well... it doesn't need to be a "professional" opinion, though. But I'm always under the impression that I'm way too slow, even though my friends tell me I'm not, so I could use some outside opinions, and even better, advice.
I'd say that white is quite eye catching against her dark fur coat. She also likes wearing blue. :)

Now that you mention it, the white does naturally draw the eye to her feminine areas. :)
Well, I'll give you my two cents on draw speed. I don't doubt that you could find someone that could draw the above image much faster than you, just as someone that can type 80 wpm can find someone types 120 wpm. If you want to be fast, teach your hands to move faster and look for ways to make your hand movements more efficient. One way to learn to type fast is to type as fast as you can, ignoring the errors, to teach your fingers to move faster and then slow down a bit to recover accuracy. I would suggest sketching and outlining as fast a you can without it looking like scribble to train your arm and mind to work at a faster movement.
As far as efficiencies go, I am no artist but most people tend to be inefficient because, in the process of completing something, they have multiple, self-serving steps to ensure the desired outcome but are actually unnecessary. A simplistic example is hammering a nail. No one want to drive a nail in crooked, but your average handy man will tap the nail to set it into the wood and then strike it multiple times more to incrementally drive the nail all the way down. A seasoned pro will set the nail in place with a quick tap, move his hand away, and then drive the nail all the way down to the wood in one swing. Saving him a good second or two over the other guy. Look for steps that can be combined or simply removed because they are not necessary to making the final product.
Best of luck to you, and I love the comic. Looking forward to more pages and more Mel.
