Before I get started - As of writing this description I am closed for USD commissions. Feel free to watch me and monitor my journal for commission openings.
I am focusing on my Valentine's Day commissions, some long standing commissions from friends waiting far too long, and pattern publication the remainder of the year (with the exception of my BagBean search - I will trade a custom plush of this quality for a BagBean)
This is Darby - my side of a trade with Homorenamon on DA
Darby is a Grem2 - a closed species by MrGremble on DA
Darby is made mostly of white Shannon brand Minky, with some rust and mango. Accents of white and taupe luxury faux fur. He stands about 26-27 inches tall and is quite heavy.
He stands on his own with some fussing but he’s meant for hugs. I kept hard bits out of him as much as possible but he does have plastic joints in his arms. He is stuffed with cluster stuffing - Morning Glory brand I believe.
His taupe markings are made with a custom mixture of several RIT DyeMore colors, painted on by hand and steam set. The color is permanent, saturated in pretty far, and does not change the texture of the minky.
Embroidered elements were designed and executed by me on my Brother PE700.

I purchased the little bandana - please forgive me for not making it XD
He has a little removable tongue, held in place with strong neodymium magnets. There are three along his mouth so his tongue may be placed in different locations. They are stupid strong magnets. I hear you have to keep them away from credit cards and electronics - they grabbed my sewing supplies for sure.
This guy was worth the effort, however I am rather burnt out hah - all his claws and the scales along his feet were hand sewn on. I saw some ways I could make my life easier next time - and I certainly will as this was a challenge near the end to get all the details on.
If/when I sell one of these using this pattern the *base price* would start around 700 USD - as in it starts there and goes up with complexity.
